The clock has been working for a couple of days, which is good. It keeps reasonably accurate time. However, there are several issues that the distributor/manufacturer should address:1. The instructions are only in German. The print is very, very tiny. Even if you read English, it's undecipherable—especially the mail-in guarantee info, which ensures that hardly anybody will bother to fill it out and mail it in. To an address in Germany.2. The base is attached at 5 o'clock, not 6. It will never stand up straight. Placing the clock on a flat surface puts the entire clock askew.3. The mounting hardware for wall hanging is laughable. Four tiny "nails" with no heads, each 1/2" long and 1/16" wide are supposed to support a plastic device upon which the "aufhangeose" (lug) on the back of the clock is hung. Impossible to mount, even for my small female hands and little kitchen hammer.4. It's not possible to replace the battery cover once it's off. Ever.So I tossed the four Barbie-sized mounting nails, the plastic mount, and the battery cover, and kept the clock. Why? It's works (so far). It's pretty—a cheerful green. It's more trouble to return than to keep. Translating the German (after enlarging the text on my copier) might be fun. And it's a reminder that even German design, engineering, and quality assurance, considered to be among the finest in the world, can be as deeply flawed as anyone else's.

Over a hundred reviews and 5 stars? Hogwash! What a piece of garbage. Basically so light and flimsy that if you tried to use it as an alarm clock it would roll off the nightstand. The timepiece kept getting stuck so that at 6:30 or so the clock would just stop and make a mild noise. When gently coerced to proceed past 6:30 to test the alarm, when the alarm went off it was so quiet that if you are a heavy sleeper - this is like a backup alert on a garbage truck at the end of the block, you will sleep right through it. And as far as the reviewer that states that the alarm is about accurate within 10 minutes or so, that is extremely generous. I set the alarm halfway between 7 and 8, and it didn't go of until 8:20. I would send it back, but 8 bucks isn't worth that much aggravation. This got sent straight to the dumpster after 3 days of "giving it a chance." Chelvee clock you may be cheap and cute, but a reliable alarm clock you are not - you lose. So long.

A slight modification makes this clock go from a 2 to a 4. I found the contrast between the numbers and background difficult to read. The numbers were a muted white and background is light lime. I used a black Sharpie to paint the numbers, hands and second hand black. It is a bit difficult to position the alarm hand accurately to a minute. There are no minute markers. The alarm is nice and loud. A nice clock. The clock information is in German.

This clock includes mountings for both wall and tabletop uses. Obviously, when you hang it on the wall you can't effectively use the alarm. Because of this, we choose to set it on a table for our kid. Unfortunately the fitting was not very stable, and less than two days into the school year, it tumbled two feet to the floor and was completely broken.

This clock is cute, cheerful, quiet and has a second hand as well as the alarm. To address some of the problems listed in other reviews:1. The little white "x" that came with the clock is a bracket for hanging on the wall2. To the folks who complained about the tiny nails with virtually no head, true - I wouldn't use them either if attaching to a drywall wall. Perhaps, using a more traditional screw and wall anchor like you would do with any other clock mounted to drywall would be the way to go. I hung mine on something that is solid wood and feel that the little nails made the tab secure to the wall.3. To those who felt the clock was unstable when hanging - true, it doesn't sit entirely securely and COULD be knocked off so take the extra precaution that you would with any framed photograph and add a little mounting tape to the inside bottom rim. Problem solved!4. Complaints about the base not being mounted with the clock not straight up - - the base is removable and can easily be re-positioned.5. For those that said the battery cover broke or that the base broke when removing - it is plastic, do not try to force it off, instead simply push the tab towards the plate cover and it will release. You can use something flat like a butter knife to gently PUSH (not pry or pull) if you can't do it with your finger. This clock is suck a cutie! I wish it came in other playful colors as well! Enjoy!

I was looking for a standard clock to place in our bathroom that matched our decor and found this adorable chunky green clock. It's an adorable clock with a retro style look. The clock has a removable stand and is easily mounted on the wall. Looks great in our bathroom!

First of all there were no english instructions. It was touted as an alarm clock but without instructions we could not figure it out. It also seemed as if the alarm would only go off on the hour and at each hour in the 24 hour period. For example 8am and 8pm. All we wanted was a cheap clock, but with no instructions in english we could not use it!

Super cute, but I can't see the numbers or the hands unless there is a bright light in the room. Which means it is useless at night. I'll go the day-glow paint route to make it work.
