About the Author Stephen Colbert was The Daily Show's longest-running and most diverse correspondent. His personality, insight and overall rightness could only lead to The Colbert Report, a half-hour nightly platform for him to give his take on the issues of the day, and, more importantly, to tell you why everyone else's take is just plain wrong. The show has been hugely successful. Read more

Almost a great kid's book
This book is extremely funny and actually has a decent story. If you like Colbert humor, you'll love it. This would be a perfect kid's book if it weren't for the stripper page. I've read it to my son, while skipping the stripper page, and it was one of his favorite books for a while... it's just too bad I can never show him one of the pages. Perhaps the fact that I keep it on a high shelf added to the allure of the book for him. He'll probably like it even more when he's older. To Stephen Colbert: can you please publish a version without the stripper page? I'd totally buy it.

Very Funny, Not for Kids unless you want to "Explain Stuff" to them
Oh. My. Gawd! So funny. Can't believe that surprised me, but....I laughed, so much.

An Absolute Must Have For Any Colbert Fan
Just like the late great Maurice Sendak (author of many classic children's books such as Where The Wild Things Are) says in his blurb on the cover "The sad thing is I like it!" The same thing holds true for any reader. A great read for kids, adults, college students, patriots, psychopaths, and anyone else you can think of really. I bought (and read) this book and so can you!

I like this book more than I thought I would
I like this book more than I thought I would! I bought it as a joke, but it was really cool and well written. It had me laughing out loud and there is a great message too.

Very good book
I didn't read the description of said book when I purchased it. Would of seen it was a grown up children's style of book. After reading it though it was very good and entertaining. Well worth the purchase.

Favorite book
At about 7, I started wearing glasses and I hated them. My Mother bought a book for me - Mr Pines Mixed up signs. It was my #1 until I'll Love you Forever. These have been joined by I am a Pole and(And So Can You!). I bought it and I will recommend it to everyone! #love Colbert!

At the risk of missing the joke...
I get it. It's a play off of his other book, which was the natural extension of a satirical, conservative pundit's autobiography full of hyperbole and bragging. It's clearly a money grab disguised as a simple joke, though. Colbert is obviously a very intelligent and, perhaps more importantly, industrious man. But neither of these qualities shine through in this book, aside from the fact that he was able to get it published.
