Unfortunately the gated neighborhood I live in has had a series of car burglaries. Mostly change out of vehicles that were carelessly left unlocked. Until a neighbor told me that these “kids” had also got a few handguns! I was freaked out to say the least. I ordered some of the key chain sprays for myself and a few girlfriends in the neighborhood. My best friends husband is in the military and thought it should be tested. He said it was comparable to what they used in Iraq…. And went on to buy some for his mother and sisters! Definitely feel safer knowing that our military was using something with the same ingredients. Thank you.

I've purchased larger size Phoenix Pepper gels for our home and for my daughters to carry. I really like the small/keychain version that my daughters can have with them for protection all the time, and not feel like it gets in the way! Nice Packaging Phoenix!

I test fired a couple of these units, and the stream was straight and accurate. I estimate the distance went over twelve feet. This is good if you are ever in an emergency situation and need to use it without having to be right next to the attacker. The safety cap turns easily, which is good when it's needed, but also urges you to use caution with how you handle it around yourself. I imagine it could get easily twisted in a purse, and quickly grabbing your keychain and hitting the sprayer could be painful if you aren't careful.

This product has made me feel safe. I workout at the gym late at night and I have the Phoenix spray ready if anyone were to approach me. Seriously has mad me feel so much safer walking to my car.

It has about an 12’ range depending on conditions. This product is a Level 3 Gel - 1.33% T.C.I got these for my wife to defend herself from attackers and stray animals. She has been approached by several stray dogs and had to take cover or escape them before. Unfortunately at the time, she had a spray and it just atomized in front of her due to the breeze. She said she got more of it on her than the dog. But enough landed that made the animal retreat.The gel gives you a much better chance of hitting your target. It also helps from blow back to you or those you are with. I love animals and this is the safest non-lethal method that really protects all parties involved. It may be really uncomfortable for the animal for 20 minutes or so .. but it is way better than being severely injured or worse on either side of the encounter. The gel doesn’t seem to have a scent when spraying and it bursts well in a nice quick stream. I would think even under a decent breeze this has an effective range.As mentioned, the gel is also laced with UV Dye that will make whatever it hits glow in the dark under a UV light. Not sure how useable that feature is for the normal civilian. This is a nice option to have if you have a UV flashlight. With a UV light source you can see where your attacker is but it doesn’t render you very hard to detect either. I tested a burst on a stone and tested it under a normal flashlight and then under my UV flashlight and finally under IR night vision. As you would expect, it is only visible under a UV flashlight.The product has a 5-Year shelf life and each canister should have the expiration tag on it.I was unable to locate any warranty either in the product information or item description.I appreciate you taking the time to read this. These little keychain pepper sprays pack a mean sting. I wanted to see if the UV dye worked, so I sprayed it into the sink of a half bathroom and shined my UV light there and it all lit up as expected. That would help the police identify your attacker. What was not expected was that I had to turn on the exhaust fan and stay out of there for a few hours due to the irritating effects of the spray! And yes, it was hours with no exaggeration.It fires a straight stream over a long distance and is easy to aim it because it goes straight out where you point it. You wouldn't need to be toe to toe with an attacker to successfully deploy it, so that is a plus if the self defense situation calls for it. I certainly wouldn't want to be down wind of this stuff, so be careful on a windy day. I am sure it would slow down any would-be attacker. Whatever they put in here is the good stuff.

got the order but one of them went off in the package and got pepper spray all over. by the time i realized what had happened it contaminated my hands. a painful experience.
