It's not actually a good deal if it doesn't work
It definitely functions, but it's doesn't perform anywhere near how it's described. I set it up in my rhodes car side by side tandem bike with a 48v battery, the small sprocket provided and a 53 tooth front sprocket and was able to hit 20 mph on the first run down my flat street. After one block, the motor cut out. It was a little war m to the touch so I let it cool down. I then connected it to a 72v battery, got another block from home at about 23 mph before the motor cut out again, only this time there was a acrid smoke coming out of the motor and the power wires were hot going to the controller. I will try a different gear ratio to see if that helps, but the speed i hit on the tests were at the low end of what I hoped to achieve, so a different gear ratio will make it even slower. Very disappointed in the actual quality and performance of this setup vs. what the numbers in the listing suggested. I seriously doubt this motor is producing more than a fraction of the wattage they say, and even then, it fails immediately. Do not buy this product!!

Excellent 72v 3Kw motor.
The media could not be loaded. This is a great 72v @3Kw motor. I purchased this in the far off hopes that I could convert my gas cart to electric.I did not need a ton of speed, and I wanted to put the priority on torque. This go kart now gets 12 to 15 miles an hour and a ton of torque, Thanks to the jackshaft I used in conjunction with this motor. My go kart is about 200 lbs and with a heatsink this motor and included controller works like a champ.I wish the motor controller was better documented and allowed for low input hall throttle because it had a tendency to rocket off in acceleration rather than a slow pwm start. Other than that, pretty powerful little motor.

Did not meet the description or expectations
The motor skips at low speeds and the controller only allows 2 of the 3 speeds/“gears”. I’ve swapped hall sensor wires, the 3 phase wires, throttle wires and setup the learning program many times: same result. I’ve even bought the same kit again to make sure I wasn’t crazy, same issue. The motor runs hot even with a heat sink and I’m not going full throttle all the time in a 2 mile distance on my scooter. This is a setup for failure. The seller support is responsive but shows no admittance their product is defective.

Danger Fire Hazard
When the motor controller combo worked it worked well but... In less than 48 hours the controller cut out mid ride on my bike and I could smell burnt components. After inspection of the internals I discovered that the main positive bus bar wasn't properly seated into the board causing the last blue phase to only have one contact back feeding from on the circuit side of the board. This in turn caused all the current to run though the lead on the back of the board causing it to start on fire as well as take out the mosfet's on the blue power phase in the process. In this case I was lucky when the board burnt up it didn't cause more shorts in turn more fires. The motor on the other hand is of good quality and is in perfect working order. The handles are average quality typical of "kit" items it is indeed a 1\4 turn. Please be careful when working with high amps no matter how low the voltage be safe out there hope this review helps.

Everything came in excellent condition. Haven't hooked it up yet, but I hope it works.

Doesn't even work.
The media could not be loaded. If I could give a lower rating I would. I have gone through 2 motors with this company. The first one spun in the wrong direction so the company did well working with me to replace it, but now the new one they sent me doesn't even spin. In makes this awful grinding noise and bounces all over the place and I cant get a hold of the company anymore. I am out money on a product that doesn't even work. Horrible.

I dislike that I didn't realize it didn't come with a battery. That's my fault but it'll be awhile before I use it. I'll have get a loan for a battery.
