Perfect
Bought these to install WLED. Works great. Have had no issues with these at all. Yes the antenna is small, just like every ESP8266 - that being said, they work fine.

Great choice if you're going to power LED's
I was using the more expensive esp-32 option for powering my LED's but decided to replace them with the more economical 8266 which should do the job equally as well. I found these were more reliably reacquiring the network connections on reboot and appear to be more resilient in retaining WLED settings.

You might need some new wider breadboards
I'm sure these are great. But I've not yet fired one up because I don't have a breadboard wide enough to handle one of these. I'm not saying don't buy them. I'm saying order some breadboards to go with them that can handle the wider width. The 8266 is two pins wider that anything I've seen before.

Worse than useless- read on
These require a sketchy USB-UART driver. I loaded code that worked on a genuine NodeMCU ESP8266 into this, and it did load. It also ran. It wouldn't connect to WiFi (I tried two of these boards). Then when I tried to connect the genuine NodeMCU board instead, it wasn't recognized (Windows didn't even make sound when unplugging this board, or plugging in the authentic board.) Yeah- it did something to Windows. Fortunately I have an image from early this AM to restore.These are low-priced, but are beyond worthless.
