I bought this toy for my rescue dog to keep him from feeling alone in his crate.He likes to lay with it and sometimes shakes it around as if playing with it. He is 5 years old but is a rescue and very skittish.One incident where it stayed ‘on’ too long and started making a strange noise. This is sturdy and battery pouch has stayed securely closed.

We just brought home our 8 we old pug puppy today and he's been a little bit anxious, clearly having some separation anxiety from his litter mates. He didn't want to leave my lap, and kept looking up at me like "what do I do?" It was 10 pm and I didn't want to carry him around all night or lie near him. As soon as I turned this on while holding him on my lap, he closed his eyes and passed out, almost instantly. I transferred him to his bed and he didn't make a stir. Now he's sleeping peacefully. This "toy" is very well made, soft and and has a robust get gentle vibrating heartbeat. I'm glad I went with this brand cause it was less pricey than the more well-known brand, plus the lamb design is cuter imo. We'll see how long it holds up, but for now I'm so glad that Ichigo is soothed and sound asleep!

Just got this for our 4 week old rescue puppy and I'm in love with it. The first nights home he was up every 2 hours on the dot and whined when he was placed in his crate, and I understood why but I needed sleep and his cuteness would only go so far. We took him to the vet and while waiting someone mentioned that their lab mix always has his and it keeps him calm. I figured if it worked on a lab it will work for my little 1lb Chihuahua mix. It has been 2 nights with this toy in his crate and he stopped whining when being put in and has slept for enough hours straight that he had gone back to being cute.UPDATE- the amount of time the heartbeat lasts is not clear on the item description. Once you press the button, and if puppy doesn't turn it off, the heartbeat stops on its own after a bit. We only have this for our puppy while he is in the crate and the batteries lasted about 4 months.
