Fantastic wealth of information!
I purchased a few different carpentry and timberframe books which were disappointing. They were more about "how to proceed with the work"I've built a house and done cabinetry so I didn't need a basic diary of a timberframers day.. I needed specs, the uses of different joints the correlation between that and the strength of different species of timber. This book is far more than just timberframing. They cover cabinet joinery. Different masonry techniques. A bit of everything. The book is laid out in a technical manner. I'm not sure of a beginner would like it but many other books cater to someone getting started.

A classic book on classic joinery
If you're looking for an old time book about how those ornate half timbered and full timbered structures were made this is a good one to read. It's devoid of all modern power tools and shows many well detailed drawings about everything from trusses to intricate interior finish details. While you probably won't use much of the information in it it is a fascinating look into the skill set our forefathers who were building these structures had and used on a daily basis.

Woodworking
Very good read for the novice woodworker. It was obviously written a long time ago. It's not s reference book but it will help to formulate ideas.

A wealth of information
Containing a wealth of information and technical knowledge, this book is a bit of a goldmine. It is more appropriate for the apprentice/ enthusiast, and isn't the book to buy if you're completely new to woodworking - it would be very hard to digest for the complete beginner. For someone who's researched joinery prior to this book, it can progress your technical knowledge about historic carpentry and joinery leaps and bounds.Written using imperial measurements, it took me some getting used to as I'm a child of the modern era, and so use metric. But, once I got used to this, the book provides endless hours of fascination. It is true the drawings aren't of fantastic quality, and can be a little hard to get your head round. I've found, however, that if you stare at them long enough you can make sense of them.Would definitely buy again if I ever lost it.

Reprints are sometimes a bad idea.
Very good reference guide to woodworking. Some of printing was missing so had to send it back for a refund.
