Titan FitnessPair Adjustable 19.5" Loadable Thread Dumbbell Handles with Lock Collars, 150 LB Capacity Each, Knurled Handles for Home Gym Strength Training

First off, I'd like to make one thing clear. Another reviewer complained that these handles are hand painted with silver paint in places where there was no chrome plating, and that is simply not true. On my handles (and many other chrome plated barbells, dumbbells, and pulldown attachments I've purchased) there is a minor amount of residue left from where the manufacturer supported the parts during the chrome plating (dipping) process. You CAN remove most (or even all) of this residue, and there is chrome underneath, but it really doesn't matter, nor is it seen once even ONE plate is installed on each side of the handle. A razor blade, steel wool, or even your fingernail will take much of this off with ease, and I've included a pic below to show how the "as delivered" handle compares to the one I removed the plating acid from (in less than a minute).These handles are very nice. The chrome is decent, the machine work is decent, I only felt a few minor spots that could have been deburred better, and the knurling is really comfortable! As you can see in my pics, there is enough room to safely load one side of the dumbbell handle with 9 (5lb) pancake plates, 7 (10lb) pancake plates, or 5 of the thicker (80's vintage) Joe Weider brand plates (all with a spinlock collar installed with threads showing past collar). I have 7 other pairs of adjustable dumbbell handles in several brands, from new Weider, old Weider, CAP brand, Bollinger, and a few no name brands, and the knurling on these Titan handles is by far the smoothest and most comfortable for gripping. It's not at all coarse or abrasive like a few other handles I have. I did have to remove a very light coating of oil from each of the parts that were included (I used 409 cleaner).

Mine arrived in a flimsy box, torn open, missing one of the spin lock collars. The grip knurling is not well defined and the grips are of small diameter. These characteristics will be a plus for small, soft hands and those who wear gloves. I increase the handle size by splitting one inch diameter SCH 40 PVC pipe about 5" long length wise and secure it by wrapping it with hockey stick handle tape. The threads on the plate shaft section are not well cut which makes the spin lock collar ( threaded nut ) loose and wobbles some but it does tighten against the plates OK. Not sure if they'll stay tight as I haven't used them much yet but the collar will not slip off under load so I'm confident that I won't get a steel plate on my toe on in my teeth.

I would highly recommend this product for bodybuilders and power-lifters. I received two chrome bars approximately 19.7 inches in length with four .7-inch thick lock collars. These are the heaviest adjustable dumbbell bars on the market. With the two lock collars on both, I'd say each bar weighs about 9 lbs. It's definitely heavier than your typical Gold's Gym black adjustable dumbbell bars. Yes, you can now make a dumbbell weighing over 200 lbs. if you really wanted to. I use the standard 25 lb. and 10 lb. weight plates. Of course, this is the easiest by combining 50 lb. standard weight plates with 25 lb. weight plates. Standard weight plates are cheap at most businesses. The best and inexpensive ones available can be found at your local Wal-Mart or here on Amazon. For a reminder, the grip handle is obviously not plastic or rubber. It will not move on its own no matter what; the entire bar is all chrome.This can be a positive aspect or a bad thing. It depends on your hand size. I know for a fact that my hands have no thickness to them. However, gripping these does not bother my skin. For the good news, this means your hands will still have the same space between the weights after spinning the lock collars on each side of the bar next to the weights. Are there any cons with this product? The only one I can think of is that because they're long, be careful you don't damage your wall, door, television, computer, or furniture during the bench press, upright row, shoulder shrugs, squats, shoulder press, one-arm row, and other exercise movements. Think about your workout space before purchasing these 19.7-inch bars. For the few people here who complained about the bars being sent to them damaged or with missing parts, make sure you guys didn't buy this used. My bars are brand spanking new.

I've start working out at home with a pair of Amazon dumbells. After a month I've started adding weight and soon I didn't have space anymore on the regular dumbell bars. That's why I bought this ones that are exactly the same with the regular ones but longer at the ends. Now I have enough space for all the weight that I need.

Had to give this all 1 stars due to the seller not replacing a missing spin lock from my order, so these are unusable.Their stated measurements are off also, they are not a proper fit for standard diameter plates.

I had a set of Weider adjustable handles. I was limited with how heavy I could go with them, I could not fit more than about 60 lbs on them. These handles are about 1.5 to 2 inches longer which makes an amazing amount of difference. I can now load 100+ lbs onto the handles. My first use, yesterday, I also noticed that the star locks screwed down tightly and stayed put which is also a plus. I strongly recommend these handles for those who use adjustable do=umbbells.

Overall a nice set of dumbbell handles - solid construction, nice grip, and I like the longer length to add additional weights. The one MAJOR problem are the collars. The rubber gasket keeps coming out of the collars despite several attempts to secure with adhesive. I'm tempted, as a last resort, to find a rubber-safe CA glue for a (hopefully) more permanent fix. Anyone else have issues with this?

I love the extra length, it does what I want it to!My box came with a small hole in the side, and somewhere along the line one of the four screw locks was lost. So I only got 3 of them, but they sent me not one but two of them after I reached out to them.Thank you for your customer service, and excellent product.-Brendon
