The story behind this dedicated Christian servant is a must read for anyone interested in modern missions and especially for those like himself, working and raising a family, who may have been called later to missions. This book tells how one step of obedience in serving the Lord led to another faithful step and brought Bro. Brown and his late wife through both state-side and overseas ministry to thousands. Bro. Brown is a down-to-earth guy, faithfully following the Lord and applying Bible principles in his life and work. He possesses a keen, practical insight into spiritual things and Christian ministry. His depth of true Biblical wisdom gives him a disarming ability to put point out the heart of an issue. His life story in following and fulfilling the Great Commission in reaching and discipling others and teaching them to reach and disciple others and continue in the ministry is a living illustration of how that can be accomplished. The Lord's blessing is obvious from the lasting fruit of these labors.I met Bro. Mel Brown and appreciated him in person as a fellow member of our local church (Mountain View Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL, his home church in the states) before I knew he'd written a book about his life's journey. He's in his eighties now and struggles with some health concerns, but is still focused on serving the Lord. Now I know where he's coming from in his own salvation experience, his marriage to his late wife, call to the ministry and past Christian service. Lord willing, Bro.
