Pros:Depth from handle to mallet striking head is sufficiently wide for my meaty hands. Only bang what I need to.Has a decent heft without being too weighty. You want to tenderize, not obliterate.Nibs are widely spaced and easy to clean compared to diamond shaped ones. Leaves a nice pattern.Sexy?Cons:Scares the cats when I tenderize.Wife caught me raising it in the air and yelling "BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL" once when I thought she was at work.

Ok after using it once and trying to wash it, I’d like to update my review. It’s leaving a residue that I can’t scrub off no matter what. Literally tried multiple times and ran it once through the dish washer and it’s still there. See picture - used once!

So many recipes these days require you to flatten a chicken breast! Before I purchased this, I was using a heavy cast iron skillet to pound chicken breasts - the noise was so obnoxious and I got the evil eye from my husband because it sounded like I was tearing the kitchen apart. This pounder is easy to use, lightweight, and while it isn't a quiet gadget, it is 10x's better than my previous method of attack! It is easy to handwash; I do not plan on putting it in the dishwasher.

This is the best mallet I have found yet & the price is incredible! ! I was trying to replace the one I used to have and ordered 2 others before this that didn't even come CLOSE...This has everything I want: Heavy weight, large mallet heads, 2-1/4" X 2-1/2", almost 11 inches long and a comfortable handle...And it comes with detailed instructions in a nice box you can store it in...must be hand washed to preserve the aluminum! You won't regret having one of these!

Is exactly as advertised. If a robber breaks in, grab this and box his ears and stamp his forehead. Works great. I use on chicken and pork. Everything comes out flat as I'd like it to be. Weiner schnitzel queen, lives right here! Great Pepper Steak, and fried pork chops are fantastic. I'm very happy with my purchase, it's a great tool to have handy. Now, if they'd make one encased in a splatter shield... hmmmm. Recommend. I always wash, oil down a bit, and rinse off to keep prongs and hammer metal surface in mint condition.

NOT that it's a huge deal, but it was a LOT larger than I had anticipated. I was expecting something a bit smaller. the head is larger than the palm of my hand. I'll definitely tenderize some meat with this baby.

Well made solid metal meat mallet takes thick meat and makes it thin. Works well on chicken, pork, beef (so far that's all I have used it on). The flat side is good for chicken, and the textured side works great on tougher beef cuts.By pounding them thinner, you can get faster and more even cooking, and it also makes tough cuts quite tender.Seasoning before pounding can drive the spices into the meat as well.
