Q: Is this ups expected to last longer than 3 years? is the battery replaceable? is there a way to disable beeping?

Thank you for your question. Yes, the UPS is designed to last longer than 3 yrs. It comes with a standard 3 yr. warranty. The battery inside this PST5 UPS is VRLA and depending on environmental and use factors will need to be replaced typically in 3-5 years under standard temperature environments and following recharge guidelines in the manual. We do offer Lithium in our PSI5 series that has 2-3X the life of VRLA and takes the heat even better. Beeping along with the LED color is alerting you to draw your attention to the unit as a warning indicator. Page 17 of our manual highlights 1 beep/sec rate is notice that the load devices attached to the output of the UPS are exceeding the UPS rating and one should reduce the load plugged into the UPS. 2 beeps/5 sec or 3 beeps/30 seconds indicate the battery is week. Charge the ups or replace the battery. We have not designed this unit with disable alarm functionality. Yes, the battery is replaceable.

Q: Does it beep on outage and can you mute it?

Yes it does beep. You can however mute the device during an outage by pressing the button on the front. I have the 850VA and purchased in 2021.

Q: What is the surge suppression/protection rating (in joules)?

316 Joules. It's written in the manual under specifications.

Q: What is the maximum operating temperature of this device?

Operating temperature range is 32-104F (0 to40C). Most applications are used for protecting desktop computers, gaming consoles, wifi routers and other electronics, typically in an indoor setting. Please contact our Vertiv for other uses.
