Q: Does the color only stay when the water is in there & as the water drops down so does the colors or does the colors stay lit from top to bottom?

The light is not quite as vibrant as the photos shown. There is an on and off switch for just the light, so it will stay on regardless of the water level. It also changes colors while it is on. There is not a way to set it to one preferred color.
