It's a great smart phone has really cool extras!!
Well I bought this phone for my son, his phone was at&t. Couldn't afford to have it activated so I always buy Tracphones because they are inexpensive, good quality and their plans are very affordable. So I got the phone, had it turned on and now he has roll over monthly service!!! So folks unless you're uppity up and gotta have a $1000.00 phone, want great service and a great dependable phone that knows you personally and has really cool things you can pick out and add to your cool smartphone that knows your name get this phone folks. I love it to because I don't have the news running around my screen!!! It's a great phone nice looking and very updated and wow just enjoy the low price great service and quality for a very affordable price and service!!!😀😀😀

Works just fine (but the speakers are bad)
My phone works well and has not had any problems.I normally don't write reviews just to say this, but there are a lot of negative reviews here on this product about stupid stuff.A few caveats:- At the time of this writing, I am not using my TCL 30 Z as a daily driver. It's taking me a few days to copy over all my apps and settings (I run a lot of weird stuff apparently), so I haven't stress-tested it yet in real-life conditions. I've only had it around for three days or so.- The speakers are really bad. This is surprising, because I'm upgrading from a TCL A1X. The TCL 30 Z is the same entry-level price point, so the downgrade here is a shock. However, if I really cared about speakers, I shouldn't have purchased this entry-level device.- Android 12 is not my bag. I'm used to Lollipop-era UI, so this new UI redesign is very different (and in many ways worse). However, Android 12 is widespread across the market now, so that's not a problem specific to this phone.

Phone is ok but the service was really bad.
I called to have my data transferred to new Tracphone, and was advised to shut off my number with US Cellar first, not being really sure that I would lose my number so called US Cellar and they assured me I would lose my number. I went to Verizon who said they would help. And they had the same problem with tracphone service, so I just went with Verizon. My sister-in-law has tracphone for years and just loves it.

So far so good.
Bought 2 for aging parents. Good price. Fairly easy to use, but confusing for first time smart phone users.Battery life seems to be good. HOWEVER, ( which is not exactly a phone issue, but a warning!) Set up required calls to Tracfone hotline. Took 3 days and countless representatives. Ridiculous. The worst part was one of the reps had no idea what she was doing and shut MY service off! Nightmare to straighten out.

Perfect “light switch” for Hue bulbs
This is a cheap phone — it was painful slow setting up. I don’t know that I’d want to try and carry this as my day to day phone. But once I got the Philips hue app installed, set it to no wifi, removed the SIM card, set it to never sleep, and mounted it on my wall with the hue app running, it makes a wonderful light switch. 😂😂😂.
