almost the perfect desert tire
I loved this tire when it was fresh. I do long desert rides for rally racing and tried a bunch of different tire combos. These maxxis deserts are nearly perfect and a lot of my racing competitors ran these. I can't say they were my number one choice only because I was chunking off the side knobs within a few hundred miles at race pace. I enede up racing with a tougher tire so that I wouldn't have to do so many tire changes. That said, if I had the means to race in the desert with a fresh tire every day, this would be the one for me. I even did some dune riding with this 110 rear mounted on my heavy rally bike! It wasn't great and I wish i had a 130 width but it worked! Me and my DRZ 400 loved this tire.

Great tire for me. I've been using these tires for years and they never disappoint me. However the rocks get scared when they feel it coming.
