Fit well, waterproof, but tiny bit of poor construction allows rubbing by tongue/laces on one foot
I always take a UK9 in Merrells' and despite other reviews suggesting these fit small or are tight, I found they fit me well.About the first time I wore them, we had a tremendous downpour, and these kept my feet dry even where I had to briefly wade into very deep puddles. My only niggle is that I am getting a small amount of rubbing to the side of one foot around the position of the top lacing hole, and where the tongue has a small fold of material to help maintain the waterproof aspect whilst still allowing the tongue to move when putting the shoe on or taking it off. There must be at least 2 places where the shoe has this feature, one on each foot, but only 1 is rubbing. If I forego lacing through the top holes, this rubbing reduces significantly, but the feel on the foot is looser and it is inevitably less secure, probably not an issue in general walking, but maybe if doing a bit of light scrambling across uneven ground or rocks it may be more of an issue.I suspect it is a construction issue, if it was a design fault I'd expect it to be a problem on both feet. I would guess something has been stitched in a slightly different position on just the one shoe.Have decided to try and live with it, and hope that as the shoe stretches with wear, the pressure on this point will ease and the rub become negligible.

Merely Trail Shoes
Very well made, comfortable and, as advised by other customers, go one half to one full size up. I went a full size up but wear thicker socks and that works foe me.

Good robust shoes.
The shoes are good looking and functional. They have soles which give good grip and appear to be waterproof so far.

Still trying to break them in.
Seem to well made on the whole but....I might just be unlucky but my pair has stitching on the side of the tongue on one of the boots that is very good at creating a painful blister. I can't wear them without taping my foot first, even after trying to flatten it down with clips. They also appear to be a size smaller than advertised. I thought they would bed down and loosen a bit, but no joy so far.On the plus side, I have lumpy heels which always gives me grief with new shoes, but no bother from these.

Didn't disappoint
As with all my previous Merrells they fit and are comfortable to wear straight our of the box. As usual very well made and built to last. Walking through town or in the hills they look good and I can wear them all day.I always go to Merrell shoes first and they have never let me down.

Shoes did not survive 7 months
The media could not be loaded. Very disappointed, at first these were great, very comfortable and waterproof - I wear these for my daily dog walk but not in heavy rain or mid (wear my wellies then). I would have expected at least a year or two given the price so sadly there are going in the bin.
