The Brace is Tight At First
I am a size 12.5 US so I bought the L-XL brace per my doctor's orders post achilles tendon surgery. For the first couple of weeks it was very tight fitting, and difficult to get on and off and I needed assistance. It has since loosened up or stretched to where I can get it on and off myself. Initially, it's a little confusing to put on with all the straps and fasteners, so read the instructions! The Brace provides excellent support for the entire ankle so it does work very well, and is comfortable to wear.IT GOES ON OVER YOUR SOCK!!!! So be sure to wear it that way.

More bulk than brawn.
This thing is complicated, bulky and heavy with lots of padding, straps and plastic. Unfortunately the support just isn't much better than a simple lace up. Inversion support is pretty good, but there's not enough arch support to justify all the bulk under your foot. Overall this just isn't well designed. That's a shame because it's really well built.

For the most part pretty good.
I’ve worn it now about 10x before a long walk. I think it works. Takes a few times to figure out exactly how to strap it correctly. It is a bit “clunky”. Meaning the top lace of your sneakers will be pretty wide. I think it’s just a. It cumbersome though but it does give added support.

IDENTICAL to McDavid Elite 4197 “Bio-Logix”
I couldn't decide so I bought both: McDavid Elite 4197 Bio-Logix and the Shock Doctor Elite 2055 Bio-Logix braces. I thought I’d check form, fit, function and give a solid user review. But, I can’t because they are IDENTICAL right down to the Vietnam factory that made them. Even the wash and care label is IDENTICAL (except one shows the 4197 tag vs the 2055 tag). I can even tell the ‘allowable marketing choices given to each brand’: the front of the top ankle strap and the monograms over each ankle bone area. Save yourself money and buy which ever is cheaper “today”. For me, Shock Doctor was about $15 cheaper.

Provides awesome support, fits small
Having ankle issues, ordered this. Awesome support! I have bigger calves so was too small. If you have bigger calves order a size up.

The XL/XXL size was too small for my size 13 foot
This seems like a quality brace and is well designed and constructed. Unfortunately, my size 13 with sock was too big for this brace. When I pulled it tight, the heel pads were not centered on my heel bones creating pressure. I am unsure if this brace would offer sufficient lateral support as there is no adjustable strap under the foot, but if they had a larger size I would definitely buy one to give it another try.

Too Small and Too Big
Got the XL. It was too tight for my foot/ankle (US men's size 10, 280 lbs) and too bulky to fit in my shoe. Also was 2 weeks late and arrived in used condition.

Just follow the directions
Had rolled my ankle and this was perfect for the support I was needing. The brace actually help with the tenderness and saved my recovering ankle a few other time from being rolled
