Great book! So funny!

Cute Thanksgiving story with interesting, humorous events and a lesson to be learned. Seven year old enjoyed.

This is my family's favorite Thanksgiving book, hands down. It is absolutely ridiculous and far-fetched, which we adore, year after year. It is a tradition to pull this book out of our holiday bin and laugh as each character hides the truth about their meal prep fiascos. A true joy to read together and something my (now) 11-year-old and 9-year-old look forward to. I have a feeling we'll still be laughing about the Tappletons when they are middle aged!

I got this book as a gift for my boss's kids because it was my favorite seasonal book as a child. I read this book over again before gifting it and it flooded me with great memories and a great story.

A colleague recommended this book, saying her family reads it every Thanksgiving; and after purchasing it, I totally understand why. These silly Tappletons are a group of characters that every family can relate to. It's such a fun read!

I use this book for a Thanksgiving read aloud to give teachers a break and as a way to say I am grateful for their work. . After the story is read, I ask students to think of a time things didn't go as planned but ended up working out. We also talk about non-tangible things they are grateful for and why. Great book and great lesson in being positive, being a problem solver and showing gratitude.

I used to read this book to my kindergarteners when teaching. So glad to have found this original version. My grandkids thought it was a hoot and I love Grandma's "blessing" at the end.

This is a wonderful Thanksgiving story for children and families--a true classic. However, it was ever so much more effective when the illustrations were of people, not wolves! If you can find an older version with the people illustrations, buy that one instead.
