Does the job
I have about 20 RyobiBase units and 6 batteries means I’m only charging 6 batteries and not a whole host for each individual device. And they are quite solid. Though not really on a professional level (my drill ended up losing its centre), but then it’s not a professional price. I do however use them quite roughly, and they take it.

Great torch but!
Excellent value for money but it was a bit tight of Ryobi not to supply a spare bulb even though it states a spare comes with it, hence a 4/5.I bought a £7.00 LED bulb on here and you can see where i put the now spare halogen bulb, it works great up to about 30 feet, I’ve not tried it outdoors yet, then again I didn’t buy it to search for the LuftwaffeIt’s biggest disappointment is the side vents because of the halogen bulb, this means it is not water resistant despite the fact the on/ off switch is ?Hmmm?, it may withstand a light shower for short periods EG swapping a tyre but eventually it will corrode around the bulb. What I did was use an oil called wet oil, its for bike chains and prevents corrosion I used this on the internals of the torch to help prevent corrosion, also I have bought an LED bulb and covered the side vents with duct tape to help it be more water resistant.ProsVery Good beam spread.Handy rotating head.Feels quite a solid unit.Good proper light from Halogen bulb.Halogen bulb gets hot so should ensure its connectors dry off after getting dampTakes all sizes of battery 1.2 AH-6AHNice and compact. Can be set to many different angles making it great for both professional and domestic use.ConsHalogen bulb gets hot so may cause problems using indoors for prolonged periods.Has side vents in torch head which will let in water/ moisture and dust, this will inevitably lead to corrosion.Halogen bulb will drain the battery much quicker than LED.Not water resistant,All in all its pretty good and its huge plus is that its a one plus tool so battery’s aren’t a problem, and for £15.00 its not bad value for money

Sadly, a disappointment.
Just so I don't sound unnecessarily negative, let me say at the outset that I've been a fan of Ryobi tools for many years. I bought-in to the ONE+ 'one battery fits all' philosophy many years ago when Ryobi were one of the first (if not THE first) to recognize that you may have six, different, charged batteries on your shelf from different products, none of which fit the drill you are using in which the battery has gone flat. Ryobi tools may be criticized for not be 'Makita quality', but neither are they Makita prices. I have found them to be solid and reliable enough for extensive DIY use, at sensible prices, which in my book equals value. It would be easier to list the two or three Ryobi tools I haven't collected over the years, rather than the ones I have. All that said, this torch is the first Ryobi tool I've bought that I have been disappointed with. I bought it to replace my previous 180 torch (the 'upright' one which looked like E.T.) which has served well for the best part of a decade, never needing even so much as a replacement bulb (until I backed the rear-left wheel of the car over it). I therefore bought this as a direct replacement. The first thing which struck me was the tiny reflector/head it has. It is only 50mm - the previous torch had a 60mm (and better quality) reflector. The light output, too, was much inferior to my previous model. That night I took it out to the garage and placed it on the bench with a newly charged battery installed and shone the beam to the opposite wall. There I saw this weedy, yellow puddle of light, badly 'broken-up' around the central beam (lamp focus wrong?) and my immediate 'gut-reaction' was "That's pathetic!".My comments are therefore, that, surely, in terms of product development, isn't it a requirement that every product should be equal to, or better than the one it replaces? (if not, why bother?) This certainly isn't. Secondly, let's not forget that this is not a £2.99 lantern from Wilko (although I have something similar, which has a far superior output to this Ryobi torch), we are paying several TENNERS for a serious piece of work kit here, and it simply does not come up to the mark. On my garage wall 'test' I turned on a small, cheap LED torch I have and it completely 'washed-out' the output of the Ryobi torch. You couldn't tell if the Ryobi torch was on or not. This little thing (about 90mm long and with a 15 mm head, running on 3V worth of battery) completely blew this Ryobi torch away.Yes. I know this Ryobi torch isn't an LED torch, but perhaps that's exactly the point. For it's price, and to meet modern expectations of a serious (and expensive) work torch, perhaps it should have been. I have some spare CREE LEDs and drivers from other projects, perhaps I will attempt a conversion when I get time and perhaps this torch might then be what it should have been for the premium price. A few plastic mouldings, a couple of springs and a switch, coupled to an 'old technology' feeble torch bulb does not make it worth it's price and certainly does not make it an effective work light. Meanwhile, I am trying to think of ways to salvage my old, damaged torch because it is simply superior by far to this new one.Sorry to have a 'go' at you Ryobi, but in my humble opinion, and as a loyal Ryobi fan for more than a decade, you have lost the plot on this one.

Annoying short life of bulb
The bulb went after one week which is pretty useless after being used for approx 3 mins for 5 days

Useful accessory for the home DIY fan or domestic user
A useful torch accessory for the Ryobi One+ battery system (battery & charger sold separately). Main benefits are that it's easy to handle and it has a very stable footprint so it sits securely on the floor for example. The head can be swivelled to shine sideways or upwards by up to 45°. It gives a useful amount of light like a traditional torch. Note that contrary to the product description a spare bulb was NOT SUPPLIED. These 18V Xenon bulbs are a bit hard to find and vary in price but popular ones that are available online (eg Bosch branded) fit several makes of 18V torch. Some owners have upgraded theirs to an LED using HQRP 6V-30V 100 or even 120 Lumen bulbs which greatly improves reliability and battery life, but they cost as much as the original torch does and they give more of a very bright direct 'spot' of light than a wider beam from the lightbulb. I'm sticking with the bulb supplied to give a wider angle. Overall a useful accessory for the home DIY fan or domestic user, only feasible if you already use the One+ system though.
