Amazing - Two of them make a surprisingly good stereo system!
Completely surprised at how good two of these SRS XB10's can sound! I wanted a stereo pair of small bluetooth speakers to use in my conservatory, so I bought one, not expecting much and was so impressed, I ordered a second one immediately. They sound great on most genres of Rock, Pop, Jazz, Soul, Funk, even reasonable at Classical and seem particularly capable with piano, acoustic guitar and vocals, though I can't comment on how they would perform with Rap/Grime/Death Metal! The "bass" is quite amazing, considering their size, (and price) and is certainly not a "one note" affair, as I find it easy to follow quite complex bass patterns and low harmonies. Bass synths from Lady Gaga to Kraftwerk have caused dinner guests to ask me where I put the subwoofer - ridiculous! The stereo imagery is also very good. I use them on their sides, set roughly ten feet apart and other than an occasional momentary loss of one channel, this set up works very well, allowing me to lose myself in the music. At a distance of around six feet apart, the stereo seems stable.OK, let's get real here – as regards frequency response, they're not "Hi fi" speakers in the accepted sense and they're not going to subdue a room full of tranced-out ravers, but they've managed to keep a few people dancing here all evening!Turning them up to full volume purely as an experiment, a touch of harshness does creep in on bright material and the bass is less convincing, turning into a kind of "thock", plus there's a touch of distortion, although I have to say Steely Dan still sounds amazingly good! With solo guitar & vocal material, they also have an uncanny knack of making you think the performer is in the room - weird! They suit the "live" acoustic of my conservatory well.Operationally, they pair effortlessly to my Android phone and with each other. Battery life is as stated at around 14 hours at a fairly high level, or more. I bought two good quality chargers specifically for them and it takes around three hours to fully charge them.Only downside is the difficulty in seeing the controls, (I bought black speakers) but have got used to that now.I haven't subjected them to any wet conditions or experienced any problems yet - I bought them just before Christmas and they're used for around 2 to 3 hours most days.Even with other good quality sound systems at home, I find it hard to resist spending more time than I should gazing out at the garden and listening to these little delights, they're just fun to listen to!Thanks Sony.UPDATE - Nearly the end of May & still happy with these speakers. PLEASE NOTE: If you lie them on their sides, sitting on their hanging rings they don't move around & they sound better!SECOND UPDATE - It's now October 2019 and they're still working well. Used for 2 to 3 hours every day and I charge them once a week.THIRD UPDATE - February 2020 - still happy - in fact, ditto the second update!FOURTH UPDATE - June 2020 - no problems - still happy!FIFTH UPDATE - August 2020 - ditto & also found them excellent for music participation events via Zoom.SIXTH UPDATE - December 2020 - Lately, they've been subjected to much heavier use since subscribing to Amazon Unlimited HD, but still all good!N.B. this mammoth review applies to the SRS-XB10, but I would imagine the SRS-XB12 is as good, if not better.

Impressive Sound Quality
This is a great little Bluetooth speaker. The first thing to talk about is the sound, it's really punchy and doesn't disappoint with the bass, using whatever surface it's on to help amplify the bass notes - can't complain at the sound. It's also really well built, you feel like your handling a quality item, not too heavy and with a hard rubber finish to protect it and prevent accidental drops. The battery life is also really good, we've only charged a handful of times with regular use.Probably the most difficult thing we've had is Bluetooth pairing, as once paired with 2 devices, if they're both in range it's a little difficult to connect to a specific device without forgetting from a phone.Overall a great little speaker (only tested single device rather than twin paired stereo).

Great sound from such a tiny speaker
Great sound for its size, such a tiny speaker. I'd say its more for indoor use or poolside close quarters rather than noisy outdoor use though. Charges quick enough and will hold a charge for at least a whole day depending on usage. Easy to connect and use.

Highly recommend
UPDATE: I’ve lost this speaker after taking it to a party :( I’ve bought other ones to replace it but I honestly can’t find anything to match my expectations because of this. Defiantly going to buy another one and would highly recommend.Overall this is a great portable speaker! The sound quality and volume is good considering it's size and I like the fact that you can stand it up or on it's side. The look and design is sleek and It's very compact, so easy to take around with me in my bag etc. For reference, it fits nicely in my hand and I have been told my hands are small :) I have had this product for almost 6 months now and I will admit that the battery life lasts long at first. I went at least a week of daily and long use before needing to charge it which was impressive considering how much it was being used. However about 2 months in the battery life has depleted a lot, I now have to charge it every 1-2 days. Nevertheless, I'd say it's good value for the price you pay and i'd be lost without it.

Cracking sound for the price
I was after a small, fairly inexpensive bluetooth speaker for use on holiday. I went for this one after hearing a friend's, and was so impressed ordered one on the spot. It is really quite compact, yet the sound that comes out of it defies belief. The bass is excellent (though bear in mind, it will still be less than a bigger speaker) and the mids and highs are clearly defined. Connection to my iPhone seems strong, and I have to wander away before I lose it. Battery life can be summed up by me just having to charge this once since I bought it a few weeks back, despite quite a lot of use, especially on holiday. Durability - will see, and like others say, the rubberised coating seems to attract the dust, but it has already suffered a couple of tumbles without issue. I'm half-thinking of buying another one for the stereo-pairing mode it supports, which is not the case with many speakers in this price bracket. In summary, go on, fill yer boots and get one!
