Not your mothers camera, and for good reason - highly recommend
Overall rating from 1-10, I'd give it a solid 8.My only Cons:- On initial setup, finding the device UID was not easy (highly recommend hard wiring the camera to your network for the initial setup)- Wifi is not that great, I had it placed within 20ft of a mesh router node and it couldn't keep connected for longer than 30sec at a time- When a motion notification arrives on my phone, I go to open it (which a video is stored on the SD card), it goes to the device main page, not the actual stored video- When opening the app, the main device image is still a view of the previous time the camera was opened, not a snapshot of the camera at the time I just opened the appNow for the long version. This camera is really solid, it's not plastic, it's solid metal and weights a couple of pounds. Constructed very well (definitely a security camera), and easy to take apart to access the guts if need be. The only thing you'd really need to unscrew are the 3 screws for the SDCard section. The camera is constructed to be installed on the side of a wall, which is fine for my needs. The CamHipro app is perfectly fine to use, no issues there.Once the camera is setup, the app is pretty easy to navigate. There's a spot for SDCard data (videos and data), another for snapshots, and a 3rd for managing the settings. Pretty much everything can be reviewed and set on the settings section that would need to be set.The most notable feature with the camera that I was looking for was the ONVIF option. It does have this stream available and I can access it with my local BlueIris server and can stream my feed super easily (very happy with this feature). I have other cameras that are ONVIF, but they require a unique hash every single time it's reset (or loses network) and so it's a P.I.T.A., but this one picks back up where it left off (which is great).Unfortunately, the WiFi capability on this camera is not very good. I was able to put the camera in another room and it would handle WiFi "ok", but as soon as I put it outside (just outside of a mesh router node), once I turned on the camera, it would connect for about 30sec, then I'd lose connection and it would show "Connecting..." and nothing more. I had to reset it over and over and over and it would never be stable. Because it's so close to where the node is, I just ran a cat6 wire to it and it's been stable ever since. For permanent installation, I will unfortunately need to run a cat6 line to this camera to be able to use it.Alerts are quick and reliable. We had heavy fog roll through and it caused a lot of notifications, but some simple sensitivity tweaking should resolve this. The camera does have object recognition on it which is a very nice feature, however anytime I get a notification, I get the "Human Recognized" notification, which is not the case. The picture quality on this camera is stellar. You can switch between SD or HD, and wow is HD nice. The default resolution on it is 2560x1440 @50HZ. FPS are a little bit low, but I'm not watching a blueray here, so it's fine. Super crisp video quality.All-in-all, I am very pleased with the camera. It's a bit pricey, but you're getting a really nice camera for that price.I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone looking for a hardwired security camera. SDCard or even an NVR/BI type system would complete the experience completely!

A versatile camera full of features
I'm seldom impressed enough with a product to sing it's praises but this PTZ camera qualifies. I've had a couple fixed position cameras over the years and thought they were fun and helpful giving me some piece of mind about what was going out outside the house. This camera has many features that are new to me. My first impression upon opening the package is that this is a hefty device. An aluminum case. Not plastic. Even the mounting was given a lot a thought. In the past I've had to try and get screws into the mounting holes while working around the camera. This camera has a mounting plate that is first secured to the exterior wall. Then, the camera fits over the plate and is held on with one screw in the bottom. Simple even for an old man. The recommended software is Camhipro. I was familiar with their previous app but this newer one (free) is far better for scanning or finding a particular event. Organized by day and hour with a timeline that shows activity and allows me to easily review. The operation of the camera is very intuitive. The 15x zoom is fantastic as are the tilt and pan functions. I can move the camera via the app but what makes it really useful is the humanoid tracking feature. I set a base position for the camera with the app and then turned on the humanoid tracking. So what happens is the camera is in its base position until it detects movement. My experience is it picks up people or animals. (The software allows you to set how sensitive the camera is to avoid being triggered by leaves or other things blowing in the wind.) So when the camera detects something within the parameters you set, it will follow that object. The camera tilts and pans as necessary but also increases the magnification and the distance increases. I have an open field in front of my house and it will track for over a block. When the object goes out of view, the camera waits a few seconds and then returns to the base position. It has a microphone and speaker so can be used to communicate with someone at the door. There is also a function that will define a scanning area when nothing is detected. I haven't used this function yet.The software allows up to 5 users to monitor at one time, from virtually anywhere without paying a subscription. The storage is done locally on your equipment. There are numerous settings for when an activity will trigger an alarm and store a video and or images of a given event. I haven't used it but apparently you can also be alerted by email of certain activity.I now have the camera located at my home in town but after I figure everything out, it is destined for a friends hobby farm in the country. Quite isolated and mom and dad both work in town so it is easy pickings for someone with bad intentions. It also has powerful infrared lighting at night that can be coordinated with an integrated floodlight that you can customize how it is deployed. Even if I had a unlimited budget, I don't know what more I could ask for.
