Dear buyers or JOYO fans: it is sold by JOYO technology directly in an original condition, in package the DC 9V power adapter and the cable is not be included.sorry for the inconvenience bring to you.

Q: do i need the 9v battery for this and if so when if i keep it plugged in forever will it ever die?

You need a form of 9V power, whether it be a battery or an 9v AC/DC cord, if you choose to use a battery, at some point it will die, especially if you leave the pedal on, but if you use a 9v cord, it will never die, but you probably shouldn't leave it on for an extended period of time.
