RasPiRobot Rover Kit

You get a lot for your money here. All you need is 6xAA batteries and the Raspberry Pi to get going. It even includes a WiFi dongle if you have an older model Raspberry Pi which was a nice bonus.You also get the Squid light and a button/switch adding extra value to the bundle.Assembly instructions are a video which is ok though it does just suddenly have the wheels attached without any instructions but they just push on so easy to figure out. I also had different connectors for the castor but if you follow the video for the older model it shows how those work and easy to figure out without it.Some fittings are quite close so can be fiddly to put together. Having smaller fingers such as a child would help so don't be put off for the younger user.You grab the code from github and there are a few typos in the booklet such as one github URL adding a space which might confuse some so beware if it isn't working it's likely a part of the book which is wrong and review previous examples for the correct format.Most of the code is already written for you with no explanation on how it works so you have to figure this out yourself. I'd had some exposure to python before picking this up so was fine for me but if your just starting out expect to google or just check out the other samples of code that are pre-written for the answer.Overall its an excellent piece of kit and considering the price of other similar kits its a bargain at £40. Highly recommended

Would have liked a line following module in the kit. Was easy to follow and assemble/get working. Works well. Would have like more indepth tutorial around coding and how the code/controller and motors operate together to make it move around. If I remember you just download the code for each activity with a few alterations here and there. Well worth the purchase.

The media could not be loaded.  Absolutely excellent kit! I was really amazed at how much was received for my money. Included is everything one would need to create the robot shown with a few extras too.I have no prior knowledge of robotics, but Simon's instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Even a complete noob like myself was able to build a fully functioning and fun little robot. :)There is an instruction booklet included, but for the build and connecting via SSH, there are YouTube videos offered.Not only would I recommend this kit, but I would recommend Simon too. I did have a slight issue after the build; I couldn't get any power to my Pi. I contacted Simon and he was extremely quick to reply and was amazingly helpful.

Fantastic trainers for activities in wet land. I am just so delighted that I ordered one size bigger! I am usually size 5 but ordered 6 and what a good thing I did! if I had ordered size five I was now grieving! so order one size bigger. otherwise it is very comfortable and I am going to use it for my coaching sessions when I have to coach in wet weathers. looks so great and feels so comfortable.

Very good value for the money! You get enough fine quality parts for for a good simple robotic base which you easily can extend with more sensors like camera, IMUs etc. Expect to do some "thinking work" yourself since this kit is not delivered with detailed assembly instructions and project guides. Good choice for the aspirant robot engineer - hobby as professional.
