This crimper for stranded wire works great. The pressure is adjustable, although I've used it fine where it was set from the factory. It comes with 1/8" sleeves and thimbles. It has a wire cutter in the rear and a size guide etched into the handle. I've used it probably 20 times, and I've never had a crimp release even though the wire ropes have been under a good deal of tension for shade sails.

I got this to create cables for my shade sails. The crimping tool works great. Ferrules are crimped down tight. The ferrules and thimbles included are for the maximum wire rope size this handles which is about 1/8". The cutter cuts equally as well without a ton of effort.This is a solid tool and well worth having if you're making up a lot of cables.

These things are huge. Photos don't do them justice. They might as well be the jaws of life. They do crimp clamps as advertised but are tricky to use when you really need three hands. One for each handle and another to hold the item. Perhaps invite a friend over and have some fun crimping together.

Had to use electrical wire cutters to finish cutting 1/16" wire and working with clamps, a third hand is required due to the stiffness.

This is a great tool for the price. It has adjustments that let you fine tune the position of each jaw, the gap, and the force applied...but I did not have to touch any of them. They handle the AL Cable crimps perfectly.Very sturdy. The feel and work better than the $125 crimpers that they replaced.

Will not cut 1/8 cable cleanly

I liked the crimp function, but I could not cut my 1/8 inch cable, even after tightening the bolt for the cutter. Value for money is not good if another tool, a cable cutter, must also be purchased. I used my grinder to cut my cable, leaving a messy looking repair. , Others may not be able to complete the DIY job without cutting cables cleanly.
