Works well. Small footprint. Excellent remote controlled user interface.
This is a small unit. I connect it to Chromecast and a BluRay player; it's easy to switch inputs using remote. Remote Control User interface, which has a display window on the unit, is excellent for such a small unit. It is easy to individually adjust volume of Left, Right, Front, Surround, Subwoofer, Center. No graphic equalizer. Sound quality seems fine as far as I can tell.

Humming (fixed)
(Update) got rid of the humming, by having all my powered speakers plugged into the same outlet, daisy chaining the power cords one to anotherPlays like it should but theres a hum from hell coming through the speakers haven't got to test the 5.1 maybe others will have better results but I can not recommend

It works as described... With optical input
First the disappointing part. It does not work properly with the HDMI ARC output from my brand new 75 inch television. However, I connected it with the optical output, and it works just fine.5.1 Channel surround sound is functioning properly. I have the RCA outputs going to the discrete inputs on a 25yr old Yamaha home theater receiver that lacks digital inputs, and it works wonderfully. There's another review stating the 5.1 surround sound doesn't process properly, I have not experienced this problem. Left, right, center, the sub and the left and right surrounds all output properly. I just watched Blade Runner 2049 on Netflix today, and every channel output properly. Some may argue that the HDMI ARC not functioning properly is grounds for taking away more than one star. But for the price I'm content with giving it a four-star review.

All surround sound formats are mixed to stereo and played across all 5 speakers
Despite the description saying real 5.1 sources decode to real 5.1 sound. This does not happen. I have tried with a computer via HDMI and USB (only has 2 channel) and Optical, HDMI on a PS4, LG TV's Netflix via ARC; all sources plays human voices across all speakers instead of center channel. PC via HDMI doesn't even make sound on surround speakers. The speakers are not individually addressable other than front left and center makes any sound. Maybe mine is broken? My sources are Dolby Digital, DTS, PCM.Yes I have the setting is set to 5.1 output on the device when testing. The 2.1 setting works as it should with stereo.Yes I have a multichannel amplifier attached to the 5.1 output with RCA cables to this device. Yes I have individually tested sound output from each of the RCA jacks with a PC speaker. (It works with low level of sound without an amplifier) Yes I have tried my av receiver and 5.1 works fine from all my sources with voice output from center only. This device seems to take all incoming sources as stereo data and then does virtual 5.1 on it's outputs.I gave it two stars because the build quality is nice. Display is bright, controls are snappy. However the description is misleading... Took me hours to test all these setups to end up not getting a real 5.1 setup...

HDMI inputs did not work.
HDMI inputs did not work. Volume control cuts off sound. eARC and optical inputs with stereo did work. I love the design I wish it worked.
