This stud finder is an excellent addition to my toolbox. I love the range of feature available, especially at this price. I was buying one to replace a the simple version I have had for some time, and I thought it would be nice to have ability to trace AC wires and find metal behind the wall as well. I have tried both the regular and deep scan stud finder modes, and both work very well. Additionally, I am very impressed at the AC wire scanning option. I installed a ceiling fan in a room that had no previously had an overhead light last year, and was very pleased to see that I could easily trace the wire path all the way up my wall, even where it bends around the ductwork. Another nice feature I found was that I didn't have to constant hold in the side button while looking for a stud. Once it was on the wall and I pressed the button, I could simply slid it along the wall until the stud or wire was detected. It seems to be made of very sturdy plastic, and the mode selection is very straight forward. It takes a 9V battery, so be sure to have one on hand when it arrives. Overall, I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to a friend.

This is a nice stud finder. We have another more expensive one that we use but we have to be super careful not to drop it. Since we are working in our barn and have since finished the interior, it is nice to have a not so expensive tool to find the studs that we forgot to mark. We keep our expensive one in the house and keep this one out in the barn. It works really well and is easy to use once you can figure out the directions. It has a nice display and the notification sound is not annoying like some stud finders out there.

I recently attempted to hang artwork in the older craftsman house I live in and unfortunately attempted to do it without a stud finder. Needless to say, I damaged the wall and realized I needed a stud finder to do the job the right way.My new Classware stud finder saved the day! First of all, it's really easy to use. The instruction manual is very easy to understand and is written in clear and concise language. I just read the manual, turned on the device, calibrated it per the instructions and immediately found the studs in the living room walls where I want to hang my artwork. Within no time I was able to hang my pictures and art without damaging anymore walls. Problem solved!

The packaging was a little hard to open. One of those hard to open packaging. When I first picked it up it felt a little light/cheap? When I turned it on though I was impressed by the options it had. I really liked that it found the CENTER of the stud. So you know you’re getting the middle and not the edge of the stud. As far as ease of use: when I was done with it my kids (7 & 8 y/o) went around the house finding all the studs.

My husband and I have never used one of these before. We were hanging shelves in our garage and we had to read the directions a couple of times to figure out the correct way to use it - either we didn't understand or the directions weren't clear enough but we finally got the job done. Once we figured it out we were able to find the 2x4's and get the shelves completed. I like that the back had felt on it so it didn't mark up our walls.

The first scan was right on. It told me where the center was. Wanting to be extra sure, I tried it again and this time it gave me a different position. I drilled a few pilot holes only to realize the first reading was accurate. I just wasn't sure because I expected a more resistance when drilling the first pilot hole and I couldn't discern wood residue on the drill bit. One clue should have been that the bit was hot after going into the stud.

Pros: seems to work at finding studs and objects behind walls (see my photo). It even alerted me to electrical wiring! Relatively simple to use with a once-over of the instructions. LOUD beep alert for studs, so you won’t miss them. Bright, clear screen with info.Cons: instructions aren’t super clear, and might have had some translation issues in a couple spots. Not sure why/whether to use 1/2 inch, 1 inch, or 1.5 inch settings.Overall, for the price, this is a pretty good stud finder! Try it.

I had an awesome stud finder but lost it when I moved. Bought this to use till I find it. So far it has worked only about half as well as my old standby. It usually takes multiple passes to find the stud and then I frequently find that multiple passes produces different results. I guess for a cheap unit it's okay but I was hoping for better.
