These are great! Liquid did not work for me. These capsules are easy to swallow and have no aftertaste. I take them for heart health - 2/day. At that dose, I experience only very mild laxative effect.

My (husband's) old review: Lubricates the pipes and relieves constipation. Also adds the fun of some very raspy flatulence.My new review: I (actually, both of us) stopped taking castor oil due to possible nerve problems. A noted source says, "Allergenic compounds found on the plant surface can cause permanent nerve damage, making the harvest of castor beans a human health risk."For a truly natural laxative, I highly recommend a daily dose of a homemade oat cereal. My base recipe: 3 c. old-fashioned oats, 1/2 c. unsalted sunflower seeds, 2/3 c. wheat germ, and 1/2 c. sliced almonds. We measure 1/2 c. of this mix into a bowl and throw in a small handful of raisins, Craisins, or sweetened coconut for sweetening. It doesn't work instantly, but, after three days, I can almost guarantee good results. It's a wonderful alternative to mineral or castor oils, polyethylene glycol or stimulant laxatives. My husband eats this every day with whole milk and stays regular even though he's taking opiods.

Not impressed at all. I took enough that I should’ve pooped and elephant pile...not even a rabbit turd :(
