RapalaX Rap Magnum 40

Today I am writing this is: Sunday March 23rd, 2025.I purchased this Rapala X-Rap Magnum 40 “Red Head” Color back in the year 2021.I have so many lures that I use and Love; I try to also catch good quality fish on. So I can write reviews on all those other lures and colors that I Love also. I also do not have a boat. So at times it can be difficult finding a DEEP Lake where I can cast this BIG Rapala X-Rap Magnum 40 foot Diver on even in this Good Fishing state I am in. I do not live on the Ocean coastlines and have not been to the coast to Fish this lure as of now. So that is why the late review on this lure WITH A GOOD PHOTO / PHOTOS (because I will be trying to add more good catches on this lure).AND NOW ON TO MY REVIEW OF THE “RAPALA X-RAP MAGNUM 40”This lure is Huge at 7 inches. About 12 inches if you include the length of the bill up front and the back treble hook. This Lure is BEAUTIFUL! A Gem. And it performs JUST AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS! It runs and tracks STRAIGHT AND TRUE when casting and / or trolling. It can troll to 13 knots I think maybe more and run straight and true (I got that statistic from Rapala).These come in some BEAUTIFUL REAL LIFE COLORS! And some other interesting striking colors. This Rapala X-Rap Magnum 40 RUNS DEEP! Even at some lakes I go to that are “deep” (like 20 feet deep) I cast this thing and a few pulls and reels later I am hitting the bottom weeds. So if you are Fishing at Lakes with this you have to strategize how to maximize the effectiveness of this BIG, Large 40 foot Deep Diving Rapala without hitting bottom -you can always downsize… -BUT YOU WANT TO USE THIS Rapala X-Rap Magnum 40 you will need to think and strategize so you can fish this Gigantic Rapala Lure effectively. I personally feel the most comfortable throwing this Giant Rapala X-Rap Magnum 40 on my 12 foot Ugly Stik BIGWATER Rod with my PENN BATTLE III 8000 HS (High Speed) Spinning Reel that is spooled up with about 400 yards of 80lb Sufix 832 Advanced Superline with a 18 to 24 inch Flourocarbon Leader ranging between 80lb to 130lb (I am possibly ready for the Ocean right) to target GIANT, MONSTER Northern Pike and GIANT, MONSTER Muskie… and GIANT, MONSTER Bass, Walleye, Crappie or any other “GIANT, MONSTER” Freshwater predator fish. Just as long as it is not a “GIANT, MONSTER” mosquitoe that bites me from waiting so long for that “GIANT, MONSTER Fish” to happen.You need the Strong, Heavy Duty Hardware, Gear (and some Strength) to effortlessly, efficiently work this lure if you are casting. Or you need a Strong, Heavy Duty chair “TO WATCH” your lure be trolled as you sit back in the sun and relax on your nice boat as you wait for that “BIG SALTWATER GAMEFISH TO HIT!”This Rapala X-Rap Magnum 40 is a VERY SOLID, STRONG, TOUGH, DURABLE LURE! This thing will take a beating and give the beating. All of the Rapala X-Rap Magnums (10 foot, 15 foot, 20 foot, 30 foot and 40 foot) are Great, Tough, Durable, Strong, Very well built, designed and engineered lures.THEY RUN STRAIGHT AND TRACK TRUE NO MATTER WHAT.THEY LOOK BEAUTIFUL! THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL GEMS AND WORKS OF ART.THEY ARE STRONG BUILT; TOUGH, DURABLE AND WILL LAST YOU YEARS.The treble hooks are Big and Sharp… and saltwater / corrosion resistant hooks.My only thought for Rapala to do with the X-Rap Magnum 40 is to make another version THIS SAME SIZE AND WEIGHT but offer it in a shallower running version (3ft - 9ft) with a smaller lip design… it will be a GIANT Jerkbait! So I can Target some BIG Northern Pike and some BIG GIANT Musky! So I can sail this thing across the Lake and watch it Hit the water like an asteroid and smile as I possibly catch the Biggest Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike and / or Musky known to Man!Here is My “1 fish” I caught on this Giant Lure so far. I will keep trying to get you all The Biggest Fish on this thing and Add the photos… Freshwater and / or Saltwater.I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Rapala X-Rap Magnum 40 and any of their other sizes as well (10 ft, 15ft, 20ft, and 30ft). This Rapala X-Rap Magnums are some of My Favorite Deep Diving lures of All Time.
