Mahabharat

I had been on the lookout for a nice little introduction to The Mahabharata for a while. When I saw this book, I was immediately intrigued especially because of the paintings. It just seemed like a book that would be easy to understand for a novice. Having said that, I found myself tucking into this version The Mahabharata with a relish I usually reserve for buffets.Simply put, if you are a beginner, this is the ideal book to start off with. It's not loaded with complicated details and the paintings are really delightful. I really enjoyed it and think its ideal for anyone looking to ease into the world of The Mahabharata.

I really enjoyed reading (and sharing!) this version of the Mahabharata. My teenage cousin was familiar with the story but never actually read the Mahabharat; I knew the original version was a bit too long for her attention span, but I wasn't sure if an abriged translation might miss important bits of the storyline. This book was exactly what I was looking for since it did justice to the storyline and kept the length manageable.
