Q: Plastic is always the weak point with a mill - I understand the mechanism has no plastic, but is plastic used in any part that could eventually break?

I have used unicorn mills for 2 decades. They are super durable and last forever! I've had 2 of the large pepper mills that each lasted over 10 years. I bought this set to bring to the table due to their small size. I love this little set as they each have their own little "bowl" to catch the salt and pepper "crumbs" that always make their way out of the bottom.

Q: How many turns for a teaspoon?

Could vary based on how coarse you have the grinder set. Best to turn into a small bowl and measure if you need to be precise.

Q: Can I buy just the salt mill? I have several of these pepper mills already.

I don't know but my 2 cents of advice is to buy the set. I bought the set after having the same company's larger pepper grinder for a few years. I have several sets of grinders, many prettier, etc. but this is the only set I use and the one our guests request. We think it is the best. After you have the best you don't want the rest. I think I'll ditch the rest and gain some space in my cabinets. Thanks for the prompt!
