The Heroic Trio / Executioners (The Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray]

I loved these 2 movies and am overjoyed that I now own a collection that does them justice. Multiple audio tracks, interviews, 4K Blu Ray and Blu Ray discs, and a poster. Such a respectful collection

This film is a legend and stars some top people in the genre. I was very excited to buy this remaster in 4K Ultra High Def and I was very disappointed with what I actually received. When the opening credits rolled and the color around the type bled like I was watching a VHS tape, I knew I was not going to be enjoying the visual quality and I didn't. I think a regular DVD version would have been fine and I already had that. The movie itself is the story of three women with extraordinary martial arts powers who come together to fight against a sorcerer living in the sewer system (This is genre coding to imply that the sorcerer is actually in the underworld.) It is a bit tropey but the execution and the combination of personalities involved in the film are what propel it. Michelle Yeoh will be the most recognizable actor for Western viewers, she's playing a femme fatale in this story. Also included in this criterion collection release is the sequel movie The Executioners which is not as good but is kind of interesting.
