Powerful charging plug, more efficient and offering faster charging speeds
Powerful charging plug, supplied with a 2m USB C to USB C cable. The gallium nitride (GaN) chargers can be built more compact than traditional silicon chargers, whilst being more efficient and offering faster charging speeds. It is still quite big (long) at 75mm excluding the pins, compared to a less powerful unit offering the same number / combination of ports. My existing home charging unit is several years old and does not support the latest fast charging standards, so was after a compact unit that could use alongside it for fast charging devices when required, so two USB C and one USB A is quite adequate for this.On my phone (Samsung Galaxy A32 5G) it shows up as ‘fast charging’, as it does on my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab 5Se), obviously not a challenge for the charger!I did notice that when both the USB C ports were in use along with the USB A, only one device would fast charge that does seem to be indicated on the information on the side of the charger. Priority appears to be given to C1. It allows C1 & USB A to fast charge two devices at the same time, but not C2 & A, so you just have to think about which ports you use.In use the charger gets slightly warm, as you would expect for a higher powered charger, certainly nothing that I would be concerned about. The supplied cable seems fairly thick and well-constructed, though quite stiff. I generally use a magnetic charging cable with my devices, so will be tucked away as a spare.Plugged into the socket it is slightly sloppy – mainly I think because in keeping it as compact as possible, there is not as much material below the bottom two pins as a normal plug, allowing a bit of movement. It does have a construction oddity – when plugged into a standard UK socket, everything is upside down, almost like they fixed the UK plug section on the wrong way! On the advert it looks normal, however the packaging shows it as it is. Not a big issue just looks slightly odd.

Let down by charging power with multiple outputs
As is common these days, this charger comes in a thin white card box which does little to protect the product. It looks very cheap in terms of presentation. Luckily more effort is put into the product than the packaging. The unit allows you to charge multiple devices at once, and has three ports which all have quick-charging capability. Note that to get 65W charging you can use only one port at once (one of the USB-C ones), if you plug anything else in it will drop significantly. The general build quality is fine, but no better than similar units I have tried. The plastic feels solid, presumably it’s ABS. Whether or not it will last is of course down to the electronics, and so you should check other reviews of this item before buying to see the failure rate. The ‘long’ body design is common to GaN devices and makes it easier to carry in your pocket. The downside is of course that it sticks out of wall sockets and could be a trip hazard. Thanks to the GaN tech this device really doesn’t get hot even when using over 50W.The current price for this is £18.99, which is reasonable given the specification. Not so long ago these were almost £40.So in summary I can say I am impressed, and it gets four solid stars, I just wish you could use all the ports and still use the full 65W.

Quality charger, excellent value.
This charger appears to be made of qood quality materials. The supplied soft silicon sheathed 1.8M cable is a handy length and includes a captive velcro cable tidy. The charger mains plug fits neatly within a mains socket's dimensions so it doesn't obscure the mains switch or clash with adjacent sockets. The charger body projects out about 75mm away from the mains socket. If you add the cable's plug, you're hitting ~100mm, which is quite a lot for a charger and may be a deal breaker for some with tight spaces.I tested this Charger with a USB-C charge tester (ASIN: B09Z2XF4Z6) plus the bundled charger lead with my Samsung Note20. The Note20 should be good for 25W Superfast charging and I was happy to see that the charger provided over 24W. There was no noticeable heat build up. I had hoped that I could pull some decent watts through the USB A 2.0 connector but I only managed 15W. In fairness, the charger is only rated at 18W output from the USB A port. There are a lot of these GaN chargers available and for the ratings this charger delivers, it represents excellent value compared to the competition.Recommended
