This was purchased to replace a five year old air fryer that gave up the ghost. I do like the square basket better than the round. This one is very loud though. You can hear the fan a room or two away. I had 2 russet potatoes in there and they take about 40 minutes. The vibration/fan was loud. I have seen a couple reviews that talked about it being loud but today was the loudest yet. We had used it several times with other foods and it did not vibrate like that. So I do not know if there is an issue with it or if it is just loud. I'll keep using it and see what happens. It cooks faster than the old one, that's for sure. We do not eat foods fried in oil so this is a great replacement. It seems well built. Time will tell how long it lasts or if the vibration/fan is a problem. Took a few runs to get rid of the smell in the beginning. Once I put food in it and ran it, that smell was gone. All in all it is a good air fryer.

This size is perfect for storing in my kitchen. It does take about 5 10 minutes longer - or on the longer side of times because it's small. But it is loud to me. Like your exhaust fan between medium and high. Which i suppose would be great if you were having secret convos in the kitchen;) But I'll keep it because it is more of a brown noise than an irritating noise.
