Everything about the speaker is beyond what I can put down in words. I recommend this speaker to eveyone.

This thing is beautifully constructed, and it really does chuck out the bass when you EQ it...and without distortion too, and thats impressive.Out of the box, the sound is a bit shouty as the mids are very forward, I assume to add to the perceived volume, but I did something that I would never do with a pair of headphones or my studio monitors..I almost completely removed the midrange and maxed out the lower and upper bands creating an uber V curve via the EQ, and boy did this thing wake up!Ok, it a Bluetooth speaker so you ain't getting a big stereo image out of it, but for its intended use, who cares.Construction wise, it's a wonderful thing to look at and feel, and you can see that JBL really put effort into fusing the rubber and stitched cover, I just can't find a fault in the construction anywhere.It's heavy and feels like you could drop it without a worry, even in the pool it seems, although I would be getting it out as soon as I could.I tried it with a huge variety of music, and it's definitely more at home with electronica, Hip Hop, EDM and Glitch Hop, but no so much with vocal or guitar focused music, but when you play something with good production its entertaining to say the least.Bass: Solid, room filling and thumpy without sounding at all boomy. I really was expecting distortion but it's well controlled.Mids: Not super great but not important.Highs: Detailed and enjoyable.The hoops on the top are solid and the strap is very high quality with the added bunus of having a bottle opener on it, I did say this was a party speaker right!Battery power is huge and replaceable, they claim 24 hours, but I guess thats at a lower volume. You can use it to charge your phone, so you get a completely powered portable mini sound system in one speaker.Plugged in it sounds even better, as more juice is sent to the speakers.It sure costs a bomb, but you are getting a really quality object... Bring on the summer!

I bought this to replace the JBL 6 that I gave to my granddaughter for Uni. I thought the series '4' would be smaller than a series '6' but it is twice the size. Sound quality is excellent and battery time excellent as well.

Had this speaker 3 weeks and only now has the 100% battery run out!!! Amazing sound quality, very robust, and has a handy strap to carry it! Oh and has a built in power bank to charge phone!! Simply amazing!!
