Nest Security Camera, Keep an Eye On What Matters to You, from Anywhere, for Indoor Use (Renewed)

I added this NEST security camera to my account and then added a NEST "Hello" doorbell which comes with a Nest Aware free 30-day trial. However, through technical issues with their web interface, my monthly subscription payment to be applied to another of my Nest cameras was applied to the NEST Hello device that, as stated, included a 30-day free trial. Customer service couldn't straighten this issue out so a "senior" agent said he'd give me 2 months of free trial service to all of my (3) devices - which I have in writing in an email. However, he only actually gave me 1 month's free trial service instead of two. I am now on my 4th phone call to them trying to straighten this out (currently on hold for 45+ minutes while waiting for another "senior" agent). For every phone call I've made, I'm assured that all that has been promised to me has or will be done. Not one of these phone calls has resulted in the promised results. So much wasted time!!!

I love my nest... but buyer beware: additional cameras require additional subscriptions to save video :(

Save yourself the hassle - unit was connected to another account and after 30 minutes on the phone, taking screenshots and pictures of a million things, the final answer was “send it back to Amazon, we can’t do anything about it”.

A little disappointed that i purchased a REFURBISHED model. I should have been a little more thourgough in my reading but I saw nest cam and clicked purchase. Had they use the word "REFURBISHED" to let customers know this is a used model I would not have purchased. Instead they trick customers by using the work "RENEWED" even though when you receive the box it says refurbished right on the box. This Review is of Amazon...not Nest products. I love my nest products, but Amazon is pulling one over on consumers with this wording.

Love love love my nest cams! My husband always wanted cameras inside the house and I refused for so long. Then our security system had a couple occurrences of a false fire alarm, with our dog at home alone, and we had no way to see if it was the real deal or not. Finally I caved and allowed my husband to buy some cameras for inside the house. I love these, I’m able to check on my husband when he is home with the baby, and other people when they are watching my baby. We also use one as a baby monitor camera and it woks great! You can zoom in pretty close and even see the baby breathing. These send out alerts for motion, people, talking, and even dog barking. Although, it tells us a lot that there’s a person when there’s not, that would probably be the only downfall. I would recommend these to anyone wanting some inside security and peace of mind.

I love it! Got it connected to my Apple Home kit through homebridge as a video camera with access to motion detection. I use the nest app to view the camera and talk through the cam. I use homebridge to connect to the motion sensor so I can automate cool stuff at home, like: turn on the night lights downstairs when motion is detected at night when we're home. Also other cool stuff nest cam can do when connected to homebridge with alerts and Siri 😊 again, really happy with the purchase

I wish this worked as well as it should, but this acts like a Beta test version of the system that isn't quite ready to be released to the public. The support people aren't much help. It's very confusing to use, and instructions are vague, ambiguous, and/or don't apply to your configuration. Just one example: I was assured that I can save a video clip to the camera roll on my iPhone, and read the instructions on how to do it. Doesn't work at all. I called support and asked them to walk me through it. Took her forever to understand what I was even asking (non-native English speaker), but once we worked that out, she got on her iPhone (like I have), to perform the task. "Well you just...oh, I guess I don't see that function...I don't see that function either..." She finally decides that YOU CAN'T DO THAT on an iPhone, you have to log in to their site from your regular computer and save it there. So let's say I have a 2 minute segment of a break-in at my house. I'm on vacation, and I only have my phone with me. Oh too bad - I can't save the video AT ALL, and once my auto-saved time limit is up (limited to 3 hours unless you pay big $$), it's erased forever. I could go on about many other problems, too. I only went as high as 3 stars because the hardware is very good, but the user interface is really poor and limited right now.

We had a ring doorbell but moved in our new home has more of a tunnel to the front door which wouldn’t give us much view on what was happening around the house. Purchased one of these for the front window and it works just like the doorbell. We loved it so much we bought one for the backyard too. They are extremely hot on the back of the unit but since it’s not touching anything I think it will be OK...just an FYI. The only thing I don’t like is that we set the boundaries to pick up motion and it still sends motion alerts us for things that are outside of the boundary lines. We get notified every time a car drives by which is really annoying. We did pay for the upgraded Storage but still get annoying notifications. Installation couldn’t be easier. Took less than 5 minutes.
