The rubbery surface of the "desk" scratches very easily when laptop placed on top of it. If you want "pretty," this may not be a good choice.

It's a bit expensive, but a very good product. Keeps me standing instead of sitting, and it is very comfortable to work on a laptop or to read (it has a nice feature that props up books). I don't find the hand massage feature very useful, but I am sure many people do (or would). I don't generally write reviews, but I think this produce deserves one!

I bought a FitDesk for work based on my wife's research and recommendation (she already bought one for herself). It is very sturdy, stable, and easy to assemble, except for difficulty in pushing in the 2 tube end caps - they recommend microwaving the caps 1-2 mins to soften them before installation, which worked fine for me. The unit is somewhat heavy, so I would not recommend for mobile use. It is large enough to hold my laptop with about 5 inches on each side to spare, but since nearly all my work is performed on the computer and phone, the limited space is not a downside for me. The rubberized platform keeps objects on top of the unit from sliding. I haven't found much use for the massage rollers, but find myself using the stress ball (which is tethered in the middle of the unit on a retractable cord) all the time. At my employer, the options were to either get a doctor's note for a large stand-up desk costing thousands or order a flimsy computer roller desk costing $130 or more. All I wanted was the option to stand for all or part of my work day; a large box would have done the trick, but for stability and convenience, the $75 FitDesk works wonderfully. As a fit and active middle-aged guy with a desk job, I feel much better at the end of the day for having used my FitDesk.

I am using this item as I write this review. First off, it arrived in a timely manner and very few parts to put together. No additional tools needed either which is always a plus to me. I initially thought I might use this to elevate my desktop but when I got the box it said "therapeutic laptop tray". I don't have a laptop so I was like, "uh oh!" But it works great with my iPad, keyboard, and mouse so that is awesome. You can increase or decrease the height for sitting or standing but so far I have only used it for standing. I am 5'9'' and the highest height feels good for me. I am not sure how someone who is say 6'2'' would feel.The desk feels very ergonomic with its comfortable wrist rests and gripper ball underneath to squeeze occasionally if your hands ache. The desk feels sturdy. I don't know the weight on this item but it is certainly light enough to carry. Would like to take this to school with me but not sure if that will be too cumbersome. Very happy that I bought this. It would also be easy to use to stand and read a book or to write notes in a notebook but not with just a piece of paper and nothing underneath. Can accommodate a very large book, such as a textbook but would not accommodate a laptop and book at the same time.

This is a first--the first poor review of a product and seller I have ever posted. Part of that is because I understand that every product or shipment is not going to be perfect. But this one is so far from perfect, and a more expensive item, that people should be aware. First, the shipment arrived in an Amazon box that was unsealed. Then the product box was highly damaged, as it had been shipped by the seller to the Amazon warehouse. Then the product itself looked like it had gotten dropped on a dirty rough-finish concrete floor: dings, chips, scratches, dirt everywhere. Finally, the product manufacturing seems to lack quality control and engineering, or maybe I just received a defective one. The metal tubing is not uniform, too small, warped, bent. Assembly was a distinct challenge, and I am traditionally very handy. One of the tubes only fit over the other by the paint peeling off. There are paint filings all over my living room now. The height is not fully adjustable because of the fits of the tubing, and knobs won't screw in flush. If pulling it apart wouldn't be so hard and shipping for such a large box so expensive, this dude would be going back. As it is, I think I can wash it and retrofit some of the components and work on bending the tubing, but that kind of work and money to make a new product functional for its advertised use is surely disappointing. Haven't felt this ripped off or mislead in awhile. I hope you all have a better product experience, because otherwise I think this product would be useful.

This is a great solution if you don't have hundreds of dollars (or more!) to spend on a full-scale standing desktop workstation. I recently changed offices and I was sitting a lot more at work, which I hated. This product has been a great solution. It's affordable and takes just a few minutes to put together. It's very comfortable- the massage bars are great, and there's a little hand exerciser underneath, but it works very nicely as a "stress relief" squeezy ball. :) The construction is sturdy (I've practically leaned against it and it doesn't budge), and I get some extra room on my desk surface itself, which is a nice bonus. All in all, I am very happy with my FitDesk!One caveat- I am just 5'3" and I need to have this on the tallest setting in order to work comfortably. If you are very tall and/or depending on the height of your desk, this might be a problem. You might want to measure your workstation, and compare with the FitDesk before you buy.

Was sitting so many hours while working, it was exhausting me. I randomly found this on Amazon. It was not disappointing. It doesn't look like much but it is very sturdy and stable. I stand at it 5 days a week (on an anti-fatigue mat) and I can do my job with no problem at all. Some people say they need to buy an extra part so they can use a mouse, but I don't have that problem. I have a pretty typical, company provisioned, Dell. I placed a book right next to the laptop to use as a mouse pad. I sell web-based video conferencing, so it is important that my set up is not clumsy in any way and I can navigate the software I demonstrate with no desk or mouse issues. This product couldn't be better for my needs. Very happy.
