Pioneer Air Conditioner, Wireless Internet Worldwide Access, Program, Control Module

*Update 5/8/18*After some communication with Cielo support, the correct remote/unit was made available in the app and I was able to properly connect. App seems to work well, and support was quite attentive to getting me up and running. Best bet is still to download the app first (its free) and check the supported devices before purchasing.Installed, connected (A/C unit shows WiFi symbol on display now), but app will not control unit. Have dropped and readied unit multiple times, unit still runs per its preset state, but no app control. Will contact support and update review as necessary. Also, this is supposed to be compatible with all WYS series units from 2016 on, but the code listed on the back of my remote (system from June 2016) is not in the supported units in the app that is downloaded...description should list compatible pioneer remotes supported by the Cielo Home app as if you have an unlisted remote you cannot control over WiFi. Cielo support is working on adding RG52F3/BGEFU1 remote...will update when remote is added and controller is useable.

UPDATE 2 (May 2020): I have been using this module for about a year and a half and I love it. I specifically love that I can create schedules for my unit. The app has been updated to add the “freeze protection” mode and a couple of other less-used features, which is nice. I highly recommend this module because it has been a great addition to my Pioneer system.UPDATE 1: I’ve been using this module for over a year now and it has worked great. The Cielo app works well and the module stays connected to the wifi. The only time I have had a problem has been because I changed something with my wifi access point or because of a power outage. The wifi change was my fault and I was able to correct it. After the power outage all I had to do was power cycled the unit and it re-connected to the Wi-Fi. I live in an area that has fairly frequent power outages due to storms and the module has reconnected pretty consistently once the power has come back on. It’s very rare that it has trouble.ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is a great addition to my Pioneer ductless mini split units. It allows me to control them from anywhere and set up schedules for them. The app could use some design updates, but that’s not much of an issue. Overall, it took me about ten minutes to install each controller in each unit and get it connected to the WiFi. Works great!

This product worked with my cooper and hunter Sophia series. I have 3 mini split units and bought one just to try it out for the original WiFi card cost 60 dollars. I now went ahead and bought the other 2 to complete my mini split system. It’s simple to install and set up to WiFi it’s like any other device that needs to be WiFi enabled. The only con is to use Alexa you need to camand to open Cielo App then ask to turn on or off air conditioner. Having it in the phone app makes up for it tho.

The good: Easy to install and works even over the internet to control the Mini-split. App IS easy to use.The bad: App loses contact and the unit stays in its last configuration setting until you reboot. It should remember its program even if you aren't connected.Overall: worth the small investment but Pioneer fix the App.

I was super excited to install this upgrade only to end up disappointed.First of all the wifi doesn't support 5ghz which is pretty much the standard these days. If your access point doesn't support the old 2.4ghz bands this won't work at all.Second, you can't see the current room temperature with this. Which is absolutely bonkers. All this technology and I can't even see the temp??Third, this thing doesn't support ECO Mode! I bought this to save on my energy usage and I can't even put the AC in economy!! Seriously WTF?Don't waste your time and money on this. I'll be looking for alternatives.UPDATE:I used this to turn my AC on before heading home. You think my place was nice and cool by the time I arrived? NOPE! It was a hot swamp! Despite the timeline in the app showing that the AC was turned on, it never actually did! This garbage is unreliable!

I had my 3 system split AC units installed about a month ago, the company stated if i wanted WiFi at the time of installation it was an additional $500, happy I said no. I did loads of research and went for this product on Amazon. Very easy to install, I now have WiFi capabilities on all units, we can control them from anywhere in the world with our phones and even better with Alexa using Cielo. Love love love it! I never write reviews.

Yes it allows control of Pioneer AC heatpump from smart phone but not really that smart. Does not have very sophisticated features like timers, scheduler, like a smart thermostat. Instructions were TERRIBLE and tech support was very rushed to answer questions. They use a generic app from Cielo Home. Good alternative if I loose or break remote??

This went in easy and provides great convenience. Once you get this set on your 2G wifi (5 won't work) it is easy to use and sends alerts to you phone when anyone changes the temperature.Saved me a trip back and money when I mistakenly left the AC on at my vacation home. I just shut it off from the carr when I was 100 miles away and checked to see that I had left it on at a low temperature setting.
