Good Fabric, but tight around the knees
I've used the White and grey Mayhem pants in hot tropical conditions on a hard enduro trail. In short, I like the fabric and construction quality, but the pants are tight in the knees over braces.Strengths:Fabric - The back of the leg has breathable and flexible mesh - which is nice for releasing heat and moisture from inside, my O'Neal element pants didn't breath nearly as well. The inside knee patch is a grippy leather (or synthetic leather, maybe). The lining is a light mesh and is minimal - good. The outer main fabric is tough and sheds water well although it's not necessarily water-proof.Color - It's a nice white and grey color - which is what I like, light colors reflect more sunlight. The pattern is simple enough, but not boring.Belt - The waist has a belt with loops that goes ALL the way around, I can adjust the sizing as needed and the velcro closure is solid.Pocket - Yes, my first pair of MX pants that ACTUALLY has a pocket. It's on the right side and is big enough for a wallet or phone if needed. It zips closed and won't fall open by accident.Weaknesses:Rubber knee patches - The knees have thick and large O'Neal logo patches on them. Which is good for absorbing scuffs I guess, but they aren't really sized as protective patches, and they cause the knees to bend poorly. I took the pants to my local tailor, and had the patches removed right away.Knee size - I only needed to remove the rubber knee logos because the knee is already way too small. I have skinny legs, but after putting on my knee braces (which aren't very thick), I could barely fit my legs into the pants. There was simply NO extra space. This makes the pants cling to my knees and make them seem too small when I'm bending my knees much. This is odd, because the cheap O'Neal Element pants have loads of room in the knee. Conclusion:The pants are solidly constructed from nice quality fabric and they look great. But the lack of space in the leg, especially the knees, keeps me from giving these pants a perfect score. Come on O'Neal, EVERYONE wears large knee pads and knee braces these days. Get out of the 1990s.
