Small, reliable, sharp, great value.
This is my second time buying this excellent little knife. While it is an OTF, it falls into the exception to the switchblade rule in my state and is fairly cool for that reason alone. However, with it being as sharp as it is, I am very pleased with the number of things I can do with it. I will note that a scalpel, while not super long, is a fairly scary item in a self-defense situation. I use my first one as a "money clip", and the second will be living in my keychain.I have had the first version for over a month and have easily opened it over 100 times and it is as fast and easy to open as the first time.If you are looking for a useful utility cutting tool, this is a great option for the money that won't open in your pocket, and you don't have to fiddle with the razor portion when closing it.Please note, I purchased both knives myself and was not compensated for the review.

QUICK RAZOR SHARP
It works very well and feels robust. I hope it lasts because it’s very cool. #23 scalpel blades are easy to replace. I purchased a box of 100 blades for $10. Be extra careful because the blade is extremely sharp.

Zip! Zap! Lightning Fast
The media could not be loaded. I'm not kidding you when I say, this thing is the coolest spring-assist OTF scalpel blade utility knife I've ever owned! Overpriced? That's what I thought, too. Worth it? Oh hell yes. Snappy switchblade action. I was worried about accidental discharge, but the slider button has decent resistance. It only pops open if you want it to. However, much like a derringer pistol, it's short enough and powerful enoughto lose a finger if it is "fired" with one of your precious digits over the barrel. Comes out and returns with a surprising amount of force. Easy to swap out the blade when it dulls. I've had it for a month and it's just as punchy as it was when I got it. Seems to be made well. I use it to open packages, but mostly, it's just fun to play with while watching or something. Like a fidget spinner for adult men. I will get another when one of my terrible friends inevitably steals this one.

Nice idea but ...
I just received this automatic handle this morning so my experience with it is limited. The scalpel handle appears to be nicely made and designed. The extension/retraction mechanism is similar to what I have seen on some automatic/assisted knives and works very nicely here. This handle hides the blade in the handle when the blade is retracted, a safety feature that is what interested me in this product. The handle comes with #23 blades. Similar Amazon products come with #24 blades. Some advertisements correctly indicate that the handle works with #20/21/22/23/24 size blades. These are relatively large scalpel blade with proportionately larger slots that fit onto a handle. This product is correctly advertised and what I found when it was delivered. My problem is that I typically use the smaller size scalpel blades # 11, 12, 10 and 15 with their proportionately smaller slots. The #11 blade is useful for smaller areas. These smaller scalpel blades do not fit on this handle.I searched Amazon for a similar automatic handle for the smaller scalpel blades # 11, 12, 10 and 15. It may exist but I did not find a similar product in my search. What I did find is a folding handle that fits the smaller blades. This folding version provides the safety feature of hiding/protecting the blade in the handle that I find attractive. This folding version is my next purchase.I wish this automatic handle was available for the smaller scalpel blades # 11, 12, 10 and 15.

Nice little scalpel
Awesome little knife. Perfect for detail carving or breaking down boxes. Fast action, sturdy blade.

Perfect for daily use
Pretty cool, nice action and perfect size. It’s a scalpel blade but still useful

Small and works for a while but you should look for something more reliable
The initial problem is with manufacturing tolerances in the screw holes and the durability of the main spring connectors. One screw hole was too loose and a screw fell entirely out (that is how I could see there was thread-lock applied). The two screws in the rear loosened with repeated knife use so you could tell the thread-lock wasn't engaging those holes either. Then the main spring hooks broke rendering the unit unusable.
