Great stuff!!
I am so happy to have found this stuff! My dog is a 17 year old Australian Cattle Dog and Jack Russell mix. In the past 6 months he has really started to loose interest in everything but food. Thankfully he lives to eat, so as long as I keep feeding him ... :) Anyway - he paces a LOT and was starting to get himself stuck in corners and such. He also has had a problem with fecal incontinence. Add to this mix a very stressful past 2 months leading up to a move last week. My poor guy was a basket case. He even started getting a mild case of the night time crazies. Our vet suggested I try Cholodin as well as DAP. I started both on the same day - which happened to be about a week before our move. I didn't notice any change for about 36 hours. But then it was amazing. He became so much calmer and he is sleeping though the night. He has only been on Choldin for 2 weeks and I am also still using the DAP, but he is doing great! And he handled the move like a champ. He still paces, I think maybe this is just and Aussie dog thing, as our other dog used to do this as well. But his pacing isn't as wild and he isn't getting stuck or lost anywhere. As for the pooping in the house ... that is about 50% better. He seems to be much more aware that it is about to happen and is able to let us know better. He really seems to be very aware of everything that is going on and not nearly as confused. Hopefully he will continue to show improvements. But even if he stays just the way he is now, I am thrilled that my 17.5 year old dog who just went through such a stressful move is doing as great as he is. This stuff absolutely works! I am sure he will be on it for the rest of his life. Please check out the DAP as well. It was a lifesaver during our move and now getting settled in a new place!

My Peppy Puppy is Coming Back!
I got these for my senior pup again. I had let her run out and thought she would be fine so she hasn't had any for atleast 9 months.... Boy was I wrong about her not needing them. She got to where she would not come when you called her, or even look at you which is the total opposite of her character. She also began having trouble walking and would involuntairily just sit down and then have difficulty getting up. She would get lost out in the yard and wind up over a few doors down on my neighbors back porch thinking she was on the steps to her back door :(. And she would also when we went out walking on the leash come back to the front door with me and stand at the window beside the open door, not realizing I had the actual front door open right beside where she is standing...... Well after a few months of that I said I'm getting her the Cholodin again and seeing if that makes a difference. Within 2 days she began improving. She has only sat down involuntarily 2x where we typically would of had at least 6 incidents during that time. She has only gone to the wrong door 1x as well. And she has perked back up a good bit although she still has a way to go. She is much more interested in going for a walk again which is great as well. I Triple dosed her for the first 2 days then double dosed for 2 days and today we started on the standard dose. I just gave her 2 tablets 3x a day for the tripple dose, then 2x a day for the double dose, and now we are on just getting 2 tablets for the entire day. I also put sublingual vitamin B Complex in one of her meals for the day and use Vetoquinol Omega 3 which has helped her skin and allergies a great deal. The Vet has me giving her the Vetoquinol Omega 3 2x a day although the bottle says 1 dose. She gets 2 because she has bad allergies and very dry skin. I will not let my girl be without either of these items again. The quality of her life is much better with the Cholodin especially.

Chlorine
This was prescribed by my vet for my four year old dog to help control his fecal expelling at odd times. This is usually for older dogs. However it is a vitamin, mineral supplement and has helped with the problem. It helps with nerve stimulation.

Not for Dalmatians
If you have a male dalmatian, please be very cautious in giving this to him. My 14-year-old male developed urinary stones after a few weeks on this supplement. It is made with liver, beans and brewers yeast, all high in purines. Purines and stone formation are a problem for dals and a few other breeds. The supplement worked just as well as the much more expensive anipryl I was giving.

Worked wonders for my senior dog
My veterinarian recommend this supplement when I told him my 11 year old malamute mix was appearing less engaged in life, losing his appetite and having a terrible time getting up off the floor. Also, he would often involuntarily sit while he was walking, could no longer use stairs and lost much of his coordination, falling over if he lifted his leg to relieve himself. It took about 10 days for the full effect to be noticed but I saw improvements within 24 hours. Everything improved and it was like rolling the clock back several years. He's been taking it for over a year now and he's still able to take the stairs and has far less trouble getting up from the floor. His appetite remains improved and he looks happy again - not despondent.I'd recommend this for any older dog who is beginning to "fade" with the years. It's a very inexpensive miracle in the age of veterinary medicine that's so horribly expensive!

So far so good
Cholodin seems to be working well for my 17 yr old Shep mix. She started with the excessive circling, pacing, and dazed moments about a year ago. I started this supplement about 2 months ago and she does not seem to be advancing in her Cognitive Disorder. In fact some days she is better than before. I did not start her on the recommended loading dose in fear of the side effects, so I chose to use 1/2 the recommended daily dose for 2 weeks and then upped her dose to the daily amount. I had used Anipryl for a month prior to this, but due to the cost of this med. for such a large dog I decided to try Cholodin. Grant you I did not have her on Anipryl nearly long enough to see long term effects, but I did not notice a change or a deteriation in her congnitive state from switching to Cholodin. She is not getting any worse at this point and this is good. I would recommend trying Cholodin for early signs of Canine Cognitive Disorder... I don't know how well it will work for advanced stages.
