I am relatively new to the hammock camping and "ultralight" backpacking community and have been searching for a hammock suspension system that would not stretch under my weight (I'm just shy of 260 lbs.). I have tried ropes (sorry about that), and the straps that I have looked at stretched worse than some rope. So, I decided to give the NHO straps a shot. They were very reasonably priced, just about as light as my then-current suspension system, and were advertised to have little-to-no stretch when hanging from them. I was skeptical about their actual ability to hold me up without stretching; however, I was pleasantly surprised. These straps held me up and did not budge at all. With the daisy-chained loops, it is super simple to set up a hammock, regardless of the size or distance between the trees you are using. I tested these at their minimum distance, and I stretched them out and tried them at their maximum distance; from minimum, to maximum, they worked flawlessly. Needless to say, these have become my new suspension system. Also, the straps roll back up very nicely and fit fine in their factory stuff sack. I highly recommend giving these a try! Whether relaxing in your back yard or hanging in a remote campsite somewhere, I assure you that you will not be disappointed with these straps!

I am a back packing outfitter and guide usually in old growth forests. I bought these straps (along with their hammocks) to use around giant trees that are wide aprt, and also across creeks to hang above waterfalls. The straps are super strong with reinforced stitching every where. They have plenty of length to get around just about any tree you can find these days, or between trees that were impossible to sling up before because of distance. The extra weight is worth the extra distance. There is no stretch to these at all (325lb over night). Carabiners are super strong and easy to use with no snag. The straps roll up flat and small so they pack away nice. Great company and customer service, very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone needing some hanging straps, not just for hammock! Great product, I currently have 4 sets and plan on buying more.

Got the extra set, set that up and got super happy with the product. I think what's left to be proven is their width: they are fairly narrow which makes me wonder if they are going to grab the tree trunk and stay put long term. Whoever says size doesn't matter doesn't have 14' NHO Hammock straps. 14ft sounds crazy long until you try to put a strap around a fat tree or two. It is over 6' around a tree two feet in diameter. It is really disappointing to find the perfect place to hang your hammock only to find that your straps aren't long enough to reach. These straps are great. They kept the weight low by using a 3/4" wide strap. These are heavier than using paracord or thin rope but they are secure and strong. There are no knots to tie or untie and they don't stretch or slip. It is also important to use straps to protect the trees so that we may continue to use hammocks for a long time to come. Many places are banning hanging anything from trees due to the damage caused to them in large part from hammocks hung with rope. I am a rather large guy weighing in at over 265lbs. These straps easily hold me and could safely hold much more. If you plan on backpacking with these I would opt for the wire gate carabiners to save a little weight. The other great part of the design is that the loops roll up flat for storage. The loops on some competitors straps do not roll flat taking up more space in your pack. These straps will not disappoint.
