Beautifully printed book with equal content
I'm not a quilter but I bought this as a gift for someone who is, along with two other Yoko Saito books. The book is printed on good quality paper - thick, with a nice sheen. Photos are lovely & high quality. Just glancing through I was able to understand the instructions just from having grown up around quilters, so while the techniques may or may not be easy, the instructions are well written and easy to follow.

Terrific Blocks with Visual Excitement
The patchwork patterns in this book are lovely. Some are fairly complex (but doable for anyone who has taken a good basic quiltmaking class or who is self-taught and has made at least a few quilts with precisely pieced blocks), while others are more basic yet equally visually appealing. I suggest anyone interested in the taupes/Japanese wovens start with her book Yoko Saito's Japanese Color Theory: A Study Guide to fully understand the theory behind combining these subtle fabrics to great visual effect. That book will also open your eyes to the great variation behind the colorways of the wide variety of fabrics that are considered part of the taupe colorway. After you buy that one, add this terrific one to your collection!

Beautiful!
What a great book! The materials that this book is made of are top quality & I love the way an envelope is attached to the back cover to hold the pattern sheet. Never seen that done before! The instructions are easy to follow and the photos are excellent. I can't wait to make some Christmas presents for my sister and mother-in-law from the book, and for myself of course!

Great book. All patterns missing...:(
Wonderful book, looks new. But the patterns are all missing from the back inside cover. Bummer but I can still use it by drafting my own patterns. For the money Id say it was a good deal but I wish I had known all the patterns were missing :(

I really like the book, just wish it had a few more projects in addition to the blocks.

This book is full of wonderful patterns for blocks and embroidery
This book is full of wonderful patterns for blocks and embroidery. I love Yoko's work and now she has a line of fabric out in the beautiful taupes and grayed colors she works with, as well as matching threads.

Japanese style quilting.
I love this style of quilting but most books come in Japanese. The book is well illustrated and has numerous designs with clear instruction. Written in English it is much easier to follow and gives endless opportunities to create something different.
