I bought this to add a pendant light over my kitchen counter, and it did exactly what I needed without having to rewire or make major adjustments. The kit fit snugly over my existing recessed light, and the installation took less than 45 minutes. I replaced an older recessed light with a pendant in my kitchen, and it was a fairly straightforward project. The instructions were clear, and everything I needed was included. The white ceiling medallion has a clean, modern look that blends well with my ceiling. My pendant light fit perfectly, and the setup feels secure. Overall, it’s a convenient solution for updating recessed lighting without any major changes.

The kit is easy to install and works great with my very lightweight ceiling fan (about 10 lbs). However, I had to give the product 4 stars, because the included adapter, that screws into the recessed can bulb socket, the wire leads are about 6 inches to short. Even with the bulb base pulled all the way down inside the recessed can, it is VERY difficult to wire a fan or light to the black and white power leads from the kit. I ended up adding about 6 inches of wire to lengthen them so that they would protrude far enough to allow me to connect the fan wires to the leads. Other than that, I think this is a well made kit of quality materials.

I got this to swap out a recessed light over our toilet for a chandelier style light. The overall idea of this is pretty clever. It is a moderately difficult task to get your old recessed light and housing out - YouTube tutorials definitely helped me. And then working in that small space to get this contraption drilled in is tricky especially when you’re at the top of the ladder, but that’s not really their fault. I did find it helpful to use a washer between the screw and the initial piece that you put into the wall – this will make more sense when you’re actually doing the install – otherwise I had problems with it coming loose. Regardless, the system they’ve designed is pretty clever and it worked well for us to go from a recessed light to pendant light!

I had a chandelier that I was looking to put up and used this to changed my recessed can light to the hanging light. I looked at a bunch of youtube videos to help out. The hardest part is honestly just getting in there and doing it. It can be a little bit scary but take it one step at a time. The other hardest part is screwing the converter to the can at a weird angle but was able to do it. This kit comes with most of what you need. My chandelier didn't come with wire nuts so had to get those also since this kit didn't come with it.

This conversion kit works with R5 and 6 canned lights. The components are generally OK and all hardware is included along with easy to follow instructions. The E26 screw-in adapter is very however very lightweight and clearly made of cheap materials, so will see how it holds up in the fixture over time. Parts of the metal bracket arrived scratched and soiled with oil/grease and visible fingerprints likely from the factory, so I had to clean that up as best I could but that part was installed against the top of the existing can and so not visible in the finished install. The steel medallion that is powder-coated white in my case is of good quality and looks nice. Kit does not come with a ground wire as the existing socket should be grounded but you may want to confirm that is the case before installation as the kit is nearly all metal and can easily shock you if not properly grounded. Pleased overall.
