Great product - I would most likely buy this product again.
I found this product perfect for the job. It's easy to work with. Minimal tools required, and self adhesive backing makes it easy to install, and complete the job quickly. The finished job looks nice and professional. The thermal barrier appears to work fine and it is an effective noise abatement material. I haven't measured the noise reduction level, but you can hear a noticable reduction in noise.

Good Noise Reduction
Item reduces noise and vibration as advertised. Good product, easy to install, needs some good thermal tape to go with it around the edges though (seperate purchase).

I used this to abate Fiberglass firewall.
I have an RV with a rear engine. The access cover to the engine is under the bed. The engine was firewalled with fiberglass insulation, and it was around the edges of the access panel. Every time I needed to work on the engine my forearms would rub on the fiberglass and send bits of dust flying around in the air. Fiberglass shards in my skin is one of my pet peeve's, never-mind breathing it in while it's flying around through the air— that is more of a fear of mine. I used this high quality boom Thermal Lining to finally get rid of that fiberglass. I love the quality of this material. It is a perfect replacement to fiberglass insulation.

Looks Great -- Not that Quiet
I decided to install this product with the hopes that it would quiet the engine compartment, My vehicle did not come with the OEM fiber pad normally seen on the underside of engine compartment hoods.I found this product online, after finding out the OEM pad costs three times the amount for this product. Not really hard to do, once you have made templates of the area you want covered, it was an easy install. Note: Use thin cardboard to make your templates of where you want the product to go.It looks Great, once installed, however, it somewhat cut the harsh noice of the engine, but not enough of what I was hoping for in a finished product.

good...but ...
The adhesive on the foam that is in contact with the metal (hood) is sticky. That's good. The adhesive between the foil and the foam is no good. The foil separated from the foam only after a short thirty minute drive. It's at the area where the insulation is above the engine.I had to improvise. I bought water-based caulk to re-stick the foam and foil together, after making incisions within that separated foil area.Maybe old stock? Hmmm...
