Penn Plax PBV1 7-Day Vacation Fish Feeder

I never write reviews but had to for this one! We went away for 9 days and I was so nervous to leave my betta! It says that one feeding block can feed several fish for 7-10 days so I was nervous that it wouldn’t work at all OR that it would over-feed the fish. We came back in day 9 and she was swimming around and normal-hungry for her food. Great experience!!

Llego rapido, es muy conveniente para cuando vas de viaje hasta 7 dias. Yo las compre con la esperanza de encontrar mis betas vivos y asi fue. Yo lo volveria a comprar, cuando regrese de viaje mis betas se veian igual de activos de cuando los deje y el agua del estanque no se puso turbia. Definitivamente es muy conveniente para cuando te vas de viaje y no tienes quien te los pueda atender. Esta a buen precio

I bought these betta blocks to feed my fish whilst I drove across country. I placed one in the tank a few days before I left to see if it was sufficient enough to keep my fish nourished. He did seem a little confused at first, but he caught on quickly and it did help.I use these things all the time now!! Normally I was rushing home from work (I work far from my house) to feed Feathers the fish (my roomie named him...not me. lol). Now if I have any stops on the way home such as the grocery store, I dont feel the need to hurry home to feed him.1 thing I do notice and I'm not 100% sure if it is from these blocks, but DANGGGGG the tank water has been smelling rank.I usually completely change his tank water every 1-2 weeks and it definitely didn't smell as horrifying as it does since I started using these blocks.I'm talking straight up dead rat in your wall that had a Max and Erma's Garbage Burger as his very last meal on earth and has been sitting in your wall for about 3 months during the summer time without the air conditioner on and no Febreeze in sight.Does anyone else notice this, or is this food giving my fish bad gas? lol

My first betta fish, Freddie Mercury, an adorable halfmoon-tail stars & stripes betta, died at age 2.5 years old a few days after using this product (Penn Plax PBV1 7-Day Vacation Fish Feeder) while I was out of town for a long weekend. I even go the one that says for betta.I assumed Freddie passed due to his age; he'd also had a tail injury awhile back.But ...I got my second betta fish, a beautiful platinum dragonscale plakat named Sebastian, and used one of these for a 3-day trip. Came home and within 2 days he was deceased. I'd only had him for a few weeks, and all water parameters, temperature, clarity, etc. were good, he was active as can be before I fed him one of these.I am devastated as I read these reviews because now I feel both their deaths could have been prevented. My pets are like my babies - yes, even my bettas - and I am so saddened that they did not get longer, healthier lives... seemingly because of this product.I don't think it's a coincidence based on timelines. With my beloved boy Freddie, I didn't realize it was the vacation feeder tablets. Now, after losing my sweetie Sebastian so quickly and unexpectedly, it almost has to be these pellets. No other discernable cause and I am heartbroken & feel sick over this.Shame on your Penn Plax for continuing to sell this, knowing that fish have apparently DIED!!!!!!

Our fish were still alive when we came back 6 days later. So it worked! The fish won't tell us though if they liked the taste, they're still learning sign language :)

Was easing our mind knowing our beta was fed during a weekend trip.Would definitely buy again!
