Cheap and easy way to upgrade door security
We purchased this cylinder lock to replace an extremely old no name Euro cylinder that I can almost guarantee had none of the modern security features that you'd certainly appreciate on a external door in 2024. In-fact the whole uPVC door is roughly 30 years old by this point, yet even with the aged design of the door it took no more than 5 minutes to take the old handles off, slide the old cylinder out, slide this one in, and replace the handles with new ones. This is a real cheap and easy way to improve the security of your home.I would, however, suggest ordering this to a collection point or a family member or friend's address just to be on the safe side. I'm not saying that anyone at Amazon would do anything untoward, but just be aware that the box this cylinder lock comes in is not particularly secure. It would not be difficult for someone to open the box, take a picture of the spare key codes, and return everything to the box without making it obvious that it was opened. If there were ever a good time for those ridiculously difficult to open plastic anti-tamper boxes, this would be it, Yale.
