HHIP 2006-0212 1/2 Inch 60 Degree HSS Dovetail Cutter

Make sure you measure this, mine are almost dead on 10mm, not 3/8. With that said, the "expensive" one I bought from McMaster is oversized too at 0.38". They look pretty rough, but cut just fine at 5 in/min, 0.05in stepdown, & 0.05in stepover.

Ordered the 3/8" to cut some dovetails in aluminum. Not sure how long it'll stay sharp, but it did the job just fine. I don't anticipate putting it to heavy use.

I bought two of them hoping to get through a project. the first one lasted about of a pass of 2" before it disintegrated. Tried the 2nd, advancing at a mere 1mm per pass. finished one side if the dove tail. 3 passes into the other side, halfway through one of the flutes dug in, and took the rest out. There was a definite wobble as observed by one of my senior coworkers. can someone recommend a good dovetail for mild steel??

received cutter in good condition and quickly. I should have read the ad. what is in the picture is NOT what you are ordering! this is 1 3/4" 60° dovetail cutter. NOT a set of cutters as pictured. I've not used the tool. its not what I needed.

Used on high density plastic. Works well.

The cutter that shipped looked nothing like the one pictured and snapped at the shaft, the first time I used it.
