Great for streaming Xbox Game pass or remote play.
I'm offshore 3 weeks out of the month and am an avid gamer. I never leave for work without my Switch and now my tablet and Xbox controller. My tablet combined with the Nighthawk hotspot gets me online with plenty of bandwidth to stream any Game pass game I want. Netgear Nighthawk to the rescue!I currently use Cricket wireless, but this hotspot is unlocked for any compatible carriers sim card. Check you carrier for compatibility before purchase. I know it works with AT&T and cricket wireless. Cricket offers 100gb of data for 50 a month, which is more than enough for my 3 weeks. The battery on this guy is lasting me 14 to 15 hours with the short wifi broadcast distance and 2 to 3 devices connected. Connection can be done with wifi or via the Ethernet port located on the bottom. You can also remove the battery and run the hotspot off the power cable when available.Administration is super simple and can all be done from your phone with the Netgear app. This guy has a lot of advanced router functions, including guest networks and Upnp. The digital screen displays your wifi name and password, power level, signal strength and carrier, days left on current plan, and data used. Single button operation for scrolling through your displayed info. This guy also has an extra directional antenna available for the 2 antenna ports on the bottom. I get signal splendidly without it, but sometimes it's helpful to boost your signal by putting the antenna in a window. This guy is sleek and low profile, and will get your devices on the net wherever you can get a cell signal at 4g speeds. So worth it if you need a good hotspot. Recommended for rv'ers and camping enthusiasts or gamers on the go. It's worth the extra cost, trust me.

Rigorously Tested on every Service, Now goes with me everywhere
For years I have had to suffer without good internet. The only options I had out here was satellite or dial up. For the longest time I was using a Sprint USB router on a Cradlepoint router. Then AT&T offered us a home LTE internet plan. (that was garbage after using it for 3 weeks) then I went around looking at LTE modems. And found this M1 router. And I have loved this thing ever since I found it.So the first thing I love about this router is it works with any LTE plan offered by almost all services (except Sprint because Screw them) I already had a plan with AT&T, but out of curiosity I went and got plans with Verizon and T-Mobile. Verizon worked as expected. No problem with them. T-Mobile doesn’t work well out here so I wasn’t able to truly test them here. (I also tested this In Canada. Bell, Rogers, and Freedom work with this, Never got a chance to work with Telus)For those that want to do more with this then Just know “it works” The M1 Router Is fully capable of being telnetted into and reprogrammed in different ways, my main purpose for doing this was to program it to Specifically connect to only B12 and B14. (the two higher speed main LTE bands for AT&T where I live) I think there are a few more things you can do but im not sure, I didn’t do too much.As a Home internet service, this Modem is fantastic. I paired it up with my Nighthawk router for a very simplistic look. Because it charges with USB-C I was able to plug this indirectly to the router and charge it with that. However, you cannot use the USB tether with the router so I needed to use an ethernet cable in the back. You get much better speeds out of this thing if you put the WIFI signal on the device to low or just off. I also picked up a antenna for this and hung it out my window. I love that the most about this device. As a travel device for internet. This thing is really awesome, the battery life is about 4-8hrs depending on what you use it for. Not really much for me to say about travels with this thing. It just does what it’s suppose to do, and easy to charge in the car. (one of the benefits of being charged with USB-C)All in all. This little thing was worth the money I paid for it. I’ll probably be using this thing for a really long time. If you need a home LTE internet service? Start here. This thing is really great for work, home, and just travel, and much better then that Hotel WIFI that you get really skeptical about cause you only paid $20 for the night.

I will never purchase another Netgear product.
We've had the Netgear Nighthawk M1 for about 4 months now and it worked well for a brief period. We begin experiencing an issue where the router would get stuck in a constant reboot loop. We had to do a reset of the router to fix it, setup the internet again before we could reconnect our devices. It seemed that if we tried to connect more than 2-3 devices at once it would overwhelm the router and start the continuous rebooting. We're pretty simple people and it's just 2 of us so it's not like we have 47 smart devices connected. Usually just 1-2 laptops, sometimes a TV and sometimes our cell phones. We learned quickly that we couldn't even use our Blink cameras because that would overwhelm the router. Netgear claims that the M1 will support up to 20 devices. Light personal use of the device determined that was a lie. For example, I work from home and am almost always connected to my laptop, if my husband would connect his laptop and either one of us was doing any sort of video streaming (YouTube or Zoom/Teams calls) the router would reboot. No TV's, no cell phone browsing, no Alexa's, no gaming, just very simple laptop usage. I had read through numerous forum posts with others of this same issue and there didn't seem to be a fix. This issue got continuously worse through the next 4 months and it went from happening maybe 1-2 times per week to 1-2 times per day. Until one day it stopped disbursing WiFi all together. I tried all the typical troubleshooting, rebooting, resettting, unplugging, removing the SIM, etc. Nothing worked. The device was on and showed LTE signal but there was no WiFi signal and also hardwiring the device to a laptop did not work. This is when I learned how much of a scam that Netgear really is. Netgear offers only 3 months of phone/email support for their devices before you must begin paying to speak to someone via phone or email. Kinda crazy that you get 3 months of support and my device crapped out after 4. I searched through their forums online and saw multiple posts where others had the exact same issue, Netgear representatives were no help other than suggesting a reset of the device and there did not seem to be any resolution to the problem. I searched through support/help articles on their website and nothing mentioned the issue I was having. My device is supposed to have a 1 year warranty but I was struggling to find a way to even contact Netgear to try and get a replacement product. Finally after scouring the deepest depths of their website, I found an option to log a support ticket to do a hardware check of your device if you were wanting a replacement product. I logged the ticket and received a number that I must call within 24 hours or my ticket would be cancelled. I called and spoke with a gentleman who asked if the backlight was on on the device which it was. He then told me that "since the device turns on that he cannot continue troubleshooting with me unless I pay for their technical support". I attempted to clarify as there could be plenty of issues with the device other than if it turns on or not. He further explained that that is the extent of their hardware check and they will not warranty the device if it turns on unless I pay for additional support. Keep in mind this support is $80 for 6 months of support. Insane. Luckily the day after this router died, I got an email that my Starlink order had shipped and was coming within a week. Not worth the hassle for me to continue to fight this as I won't have a need for this product in a few days. I did want to write a review to hopefully warn others not to waste money on this trash device. Before you purchase this or any Netgear product, please look up Netgear on the BBB website and skim through the complaints and reviews. I wish I would have before we bought this piece of trash. We ordered an Alcatel router from Amazon to get us through until our Starlink gets installed but that thing is already twice the product the Nighthawk M1 is for 1/3 the price. Please save yourself some headache and order a different device.
