Product Description An iconic TV classic is back and better than ever in the reinvented, updated, and super-charged Knight Rider Season One. From executive producers Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity franchise), David Bartis (The O.C.) and Glen Larson (Battlestar Galactica) comes this action-packed series about the coolest car ever created, K.I.T.T. (Knight Industries Three Thousand), that’s equipped with artificial intelligence capable of hacking into any computer, the weapons system of a jet fighter, and incredible custom body technology that allows it to transform into other vehicles. Relive every Season One episode as an elite team of crime-fighters work with K.I.T.T. to track down elusive, high-tech villains. Presented in uninterrupted Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, you won’t want to miss this fast-paced ride to the wild side! .com The '80s television phenomenon Knight Rider, in which David Hasselhoff and his hair teamed up with an erudite wonder car named KITT to fight crime, has undergone a variety of stalled attempts at a revival over the years, with a number of TV movies and short-lived syndicated series that failed to capture the original's wisecracking and smooth-riding formula. Most successful, however, was 2008's big-budget (and nicely self-aware) revamp, in which the son of the original Michael Knight takes the driver's seat of KITT's latest incarnation, this time a nanotech-sporting Shelby Mustang (voiced by Val Kilmer) with all sorts of new whiz-bang junk in the trunk. Despite an onscreen benediction from the Hoff himself, the two-hour pilot movie admittedly clunks a bit, with a few too many cross-country trips and a lack of any real hissable villains. Things improve considerably once the regular series begins, however, as Man and Car face off against the likes of terrorist surfers, nitro-burning street racers, and many other evildoers equipped with a plethora of expendable, easily explodable vehicles. Formulaically enjoyable as these early bikini-intensive episodes often are, though, things really pick up mid-season, with a genuinely tense three-part story arc that ups the dramatic ante, makes some surprising alterations to the cast roster, and, most importantly, reintroduces KITT's ticked-off cyborg nemesis KARR. The lack of a second season brought an end to this late-blooming creative surge, unfortunately, but, overall, this remains a breezily escapist, slickly helmed revamp that manages to do its daddy proud. Any series that features both KITT morphing into a truck and comes up with a scientific reason for its human leads to strip down to their underwear within the first 10 minutes of its first episode is a show with a firm understanding of exactly what it is. Special features include cast and crew commentary on the pilot, a rather overproduced gag reel, and several featurettes about the original series that should keep gearheads briefly riveted. --Andrew Wright

James Bond Meets Nash Bridges And American Muscle
My family and I were extremely disappointed at hearing the news that the Knight Rider TV show is being cancelled by NBC for the Fall 2009 season. This is an excellent show and only one of the few TV shows that we watched regularly during Fall 2008 and Spring 2009. Love the characters, high tech sci-fi themes, great action plus light humor and romance, as in James Bond meets Nash Bridges, and not to mention one of the coolest American cars ever built, the 2008 Mustang GT 500 KR with AI and Attitude (thanks to the Ice Man...Val Kilmer)--it's a WINNER in my book.We absolutely Love this multi-generational show. It's quality TV entertainment....right up there with 30 Rock, NCIS, and even Dancing With The Stars, although they're all quite different types of shows.I can't help but think back to the 1960s during my teen years and remember NBC cancelling another Great TV show after four seasons--Star Trek. NBC, are you sure you know what your viewing public really wants? Please reconsider your decision and bring back our Knight Rider! For the time being, until the TV execs. can figure it out--this DVD set offers fans a Great collection of the Knight Rider 2008 movie pilot and 16 episodes!

Limited Print Means Tough Job To Have A Complete Set
For the fans of the original series, and ones that want to have a complete collection of the Shows including the short lived series 'restart' in 2008 thru 2010, it will be a tough for them for that series (this Collection) was printed in a limited Run, NUTS ! ! !Anyways, the series was dead when they did not continue the story line that connected the 2 in the Movie of 2008 that this series was created from. Too Bad.On it's own it was a good series with a bad Time Slot.

Promising, too bad it only lasted one season.
Nothing can replace the original series but this updated show was promising. Albeit ahead of time when it was released. I think audiences would have embraced this more now due to the popularity of fast & furious series for example. I'm still hopeful that one day they will remake the old series perhaps doing an homage to the original series to do a better tie in to the current time. All in all still enjoyed watching with my nephew who is 10 hrs old he loved the new version of KITT.

Very cool movie
Why was this tv series discontinued? The HD scenes and plots are so cool. I enjoy the new knight rider. What a pleased and 5-star purchase on Amazon!Note: I have a little complain about the HD quality. Sometimes the HD scenes are disabled on my Kindle Fire HD. I understand the wifi connection maynot be strong sometimes, so the HD scenes maynot be supported when the wifi connection is weak. But is there a solution to stablize the HD scenes of the tv series?

Entertaining for Its Own Merits (Possible Spoilers)
I was a big fan of the original series when I was a child. I have been enjoying watching the original series again and am delighted to find that I enjoy it just as much as I did then. When I heard about the new remake of it, I was curious. One warning to fans of the original series...it is not good to watch this with an expectation that it is going to be like the original. The two main weaknesses of the new series is the flashy but very loose plot and how they butchered that wonderful theme song. The plot line has some very interesting ideas, but a lot of times after watching an episode--when it comes to recounting it...you just seem to remember the car chases and sexy women. KITT is more computer-like than the original series, though he still has his charm. I was very disappointed in the episode that featured KARR, KITT's evil twin. Though the episode was interesting, KARR didn't really have much of an appearance. When he finally shows up, he dies within five minutes. However, I do like the new series. It has its merits. The original series may have been corny, but it had a better developed plot. The new series is very flashy and has a loose plot, but it has a few interesting ideas--for instance, Mike's amnesia about certain events that happened to him when he was a soldier. The Knight Foundation has a whole team now of interesting characters--a nerdy scientist, a sexy linguist, a paternal head of the project, and two other shady characters that seem to have ties to other government agencies. As I've said, it is best to watch it with no expectation that it is like the old series, but it is entertaining.

Bring this show Back !!! Love KITT and the rest of the team
I had watched this show when aired and was thrilled at the chance to see KITT Michael Knight and Crew with a new twist instead of a Trans AM it was a Ford Mustang nice change by the way. I had wished it was still on. But I guess with all good things must come to an end . But still it is a great American Crime Fighting and Common sense fight the good fight . "My Name is KITT" ....

I thought it was a great re-boot
I wish that this series could have gotten a better start as I really did like it. Great actors with great chemistry. The son of Michael Knight taking over the “family job” of taking care of bad guys.Ok so I was not so thrilled about the mustang at first but I came to really like the new KITT.I wish they could have told more about Mike’s back story than they were able to do.

Knight rider-Season One 2008
I was one of the "original" Knight Rider fans for many years. After I saw the premier movie and saw that Justin was the star, I knew it was going to be "MY" show! I was so disappointed when Justin left ALL MY CHILDREN, but now I have him for my own in Knight Rider. I'm glad they used a Mustang in this series because my heart belongs to Mustangs and I also have one. Season One is not enough, I need more!!!

neue Serie

Knight Industries Three Thousand
Ah Val Killmer as KITT. This reboot was tragically ended because of Politics. The car producers buy out the writers guild strike and other things. This had much potential and I wish it would have went forth.

Enjoy your Knight...
There will always be naysayers who'll tell us `Don't Tamper With a Classic', but Hollywood has already given us huge blockbusters based on Mission Impossible, The Incredible Hulk & The A-Team, while elsewhere they've already revamped old TV series like The Fugitive, Battlestar Galactica & Nikita to name but a few, so why not give one of the most iconic series of the 80s a revamp and see how it turns out.And as this DVD boxset shows, it turns out pretty well. The premise for the show's return is that the car's original designer, who wasn't featured in the old series, has created a new KITT, is reopening the Foundation & recruits Michael Knight's estranged son to drive him (hey, can't have one without the other, right?) Character-wise, Knight is teamed up with several undercover FBI agents & crooked Government officials, all of which resonates well in today's world of conspiracy, terrorism and espionage.KITT has certainly moved with the times; he's bulkier, more muscular & instead of countless LEDs on the dashboard with a blinking scanner in front, he now has touch screen technology, access to the web & orbital satellites, advanced weaponry, metamorphic shell and transforming abilities (inspired by the Transformers movies no doubt) to name but a few of cool new attributes.KITT is ably voiced by Val Kilmer who is as charismatic as a computerised voice can hope to be, not to mention a frequent but subtle humour in his dialogue - typical example:"Worse case scenario, KITT?My outer shell will overheat & you will boil to death in your own bodily fluidsAnd the best case scenario? You will be unconscious when it happens"As for the episodes themselves, the pilot very cleverly concentrates as much on the characters as it does on KITT, while its follow-up episode is brilliantly written as the Knight Rider Team & officials begin an uneasy partnership. Other notable highlights include `A Hard Day's Knight' featuring a race against time before Michael succumbs to a poison in his system (reminiscent of the original Knight's close to death finale in the original pilot), `Knight Fever' where KITT is infected by a modern day nano-virus, `Exit Light, Enter Knight' is a real thrill as Michael is trapped in the middle of a bank heist with a seemingly helpless KITT outside, while `Knight to King's Pawn' is a cracker featuring the return of a much beefed up KARR. All in all, `Don't Stop the Knight' is a feature length episode that is unquestionably one of the best in the season with a few shocks & surprises in store.Obviously, there are other episodes that reek of cheesiness, some over-depend on `Too Fast Too Furious' motifs, another lesser episode is set in Vegas, jammed with so many babes, you completely forget what the episode was about, making it think you're watching Spring Break on MTV, but all in all by the time you watch through the entire series, you'll realise it's an utter shame that they didn't sanction a second season for this show, because it would have gotten bigger & better.A welcome return.
