Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cream - Atopic Dermatitis, Eczema-Prone Skin - Preservative & Fragrance-Free

I have seen a few reviews complaining that they thought it was overpriced. I still have the tube I bought a year ago, since a little goes a long way. Every skin cream I have tried in the past, including hydrocortisone cream, has made my sensitive skin even more itchy! This is the first product I have used that has given me instant relief from my itching, which can be very intense. I also do not need to use it everyday. I also like the fact that it is a sterile formula with no preservatives. Give this product a try, you will find it worth the price.

I’ve been searching for years for the best/ultimate hand lotion and this is it.I’ve been prone to eczema my entire life so my hands become so irritated in the winter which often results in me sleeping with Vaseline lathered on my hands, covered by socks. Which is awful and a pain to deal with. I did this almost every night until I severely burnt both of my hands in 2019. I ended up with 2nd and 3rd degree burns, which have thankfully healed pretty well considering but the burns made my skin even more irritable. The burns caused my skin to thin so any dryness will cause my skin to crack and my scars to hurt. However I quickly discovered I couldn’t wear socks on my hands at night anymore because I find them too irritating.So since then I’ve searched high and low for a moisturizer for my hands and have bought many of the other leading brands and have been disappointed.When I read about this lotion I was hesitant to purchase because of the cost but decided my hands were worth it and that I needed to just buy it. Let’s just say, I am so glad I did! This lotion is SO moisturizing. The day I tried it my hands were cracked and bleeding so I applied it in the AM and PM and by the next day they were entirely smooth and no longer cracked. I now use it every night and never have any issues with dry skin.It doesn’t burn or tingle like most lotions do on dry skin, it stays on for a long time (even through hand washing), and it doesn’t have a strong smell. More importantly when considering the cost, a little goes a long way! I usually do around a half of a pump for both hands. A full pump is WAY too much so I’m hopeful this bottle will last for a while.If you’re hesitating - don’t! Treat yourself. You deserve it.

I like this but it would be better with an SPF in it to help prevent sunburns and more irritation to the skin

Avenue just gets it when it comes to skincare. This is my go to eye cream and it’s incredible. It’s great in the evening, daytime and even under makeup. It moisturizes without feeling oily and it doesn’t irritate my skin. The product goes on smooth and absorbs nice. I’ve been using for years and will continue to do so. It should be in everyone’s eye routine.

I have had Grover's Disease for a number of years now. For me it results in minute scaly bumps on both the right and left sides of my body. They appear in November and disappear in March/April. There is no known cause, and no cure. My dermatologist at Mass. General Hospital advised me to avoid getting sweaty and avoid taking hot showers. I was told it may some day go away for good, or it may not. There is apparently no prescription drug that cures it. Basically I was told I'd just have to live with it. It is not serious, but it certainly is uncomfortable. I visited a dermatologist in Greece last summer and discussed it with her (she had interned at Mass. General in Boston). She advised me to use this Avene cream daily after showering in the morning, even during periods when the disease is not active. She agreed that there is no cure, but she stated that this should at least alleviate the symptoms. I started using it in August. It is now February and the disease has not reappeared this year at all on the sides of my body. There were traces that appeared on my lower back for the first time, but as soon as I started applying the cream there, it disappeared. Maybe it's coincidental and the disease has run its course, but I believe that the Avene cream is the reason. I will certainly continue using it.

I LOVE this product!!I have been using an over the counter Retinol and developed these dry patches on my face. I know this is a side effect when using Retinol and it takes a while before your skin can adjust to it, but NOTHING was working to help soothe the irritation. My skin can usually tolerate a lot but using Retinol had made it soooo sensitive.My skin would burn when washing it. Even putting the lightest or most creamy moisturizers would trigger irritation/inflammation. CeraVe is well known and may work great for others but even that would still irritate my skin. My skin would literally burn when putting anything on it and it was itchy. I was at a loss because I thought I would have to just stop using Retinol. Then I came across this product from watching a You Tube video from Dr. Dray (she’s a dermatologist) and decided to give it a try.I am so happy I decided to get this moisturizer!! It truly is an overnight miracle. I just received it yesterday and I feel so strongly about this product I had to review it immediately. I used the cream last night and WOW what a difference it made in just one use. I know it may sound so cliche and hard to believe but I’m being 100% honest. My dry patch is not completely gone, but the dryness has truly improved. I even had some bumps that are almost invisible now. These cream is SOOOOO moisturizing. It’s amazing 🤩It’s worth EVERY penny. I even bought the oil cleanser along with the cream- Dynamic duo! Love the product and will definitely be repurchasing again 👍.
