I used to own a tiny magnetic Go set which was totally useless, so I approached this with trepidation, but at the discount price of about £20 I took a punt.The board is about 40% full size and arrives in a stout protective tube similar to one in which art work might get stored. Two bags of magnetic stones complete the package. It's all rather nicely made.It's big enough to be easy to play on but small enough for a train journey.It's small enough for dedicated problem solving/study but big enough to be useful.

Having already bought a set of full size GO stones from this company; I new their products were of superior quality and their aftersales service is excelent.Off on holiday abroad, when the fill size set would be too bulky.I looked for a travel set. This was exactly what I needed, and only weighed 1kg. Product quality is high, both in look and feel. The stones are also large enough to be nice to use.Hope this helps.rj.

Good materials quality. But there is only 360 stones in my set, instead of 361. A black one was lost.

If you are looking for a travel go set, this one is perfect. Of course this is not equal to those non-travel sets when it comes to overall quality of the board and stones.It's easy to travel with and the stones seem well, even tought they are a little bit smaller than normal go stones.

One white piece has the magnet gone already when first opened. The number of the black and white stones seems wrong. There should be 181 black and 180 white, but there are 182 black and 179 white (including the faulty one) in the pack.

I am little disappointed. The set came in a bad condition, dirty, scratched and with a very strong toxic smell. Even after half an hour of cleaning, I still could not get rid of the smudges completely. What you see in the goban photo is the result after thorough cleaning. Anyway the cold magnetic plastic-y board is unpleasant, so I will be covering it with a sheet of cloth which will also hide the smudges and scratches.Moreover, the set came with 182 black stones and 179 white stones, where it should have been 181+180.Also, the magnetic polarity is reversed on 42 black stones, which make it uncomfortable to work with - although they still do stick to the magnetic board fine.Those are the little things that upset me, but I am still happy with this set, the box is beautiful on the outside and after enhancing the goban I won't feel bad at all playing in public.
